First round out? 2nd round?..This team is hard to even and try to figure out. I think they could go maybe to the Sweet 16 but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if they get smoked today..Signs of a young team but they are not, signs of a team with some internal issues..that I dunno. I believe this game could turn out to be more important to Sherri Coale then we think.

I have no faith in this team so I hope they surprise me with a win today.

Agreed but I'd much rather be arrogantly confident. That hasnt happened for a number of years now.

Monday night is they key game, obviously. If we can manage to get by them, then, everything thing from that point on is gravy.

We have had a habit this season of playing good one, maybe two games in a row, and then stinking it up really badly.

I just don't know which team is going to show up.

I am super pleased that we didn't go one and done. So the second game is a present. More than that and I think almost everyone on this site would say it's been a really good season and the team went beyond expectations.

I would really like to see them win, however against U-Dub.

If we can some how contain Plum to 20-24 points and then just really clamp down on defense and crash the boards, I like our chances, however if we forget to play solid defense, challenge every shooter and not fight on the boards, we get what we deserve. We match up well with them and have won two tough games at home and away with them the last couple of seasons. I want to be optimistic, but as said, we still have the enigma to deal with. I would love to purchase my Oklahoma City tickets tomorrow night after the game.

This is why I think UW will be extra pumped to play tomorrow. But hopefully those wins give us some extra confidence. It won't be impossible, but will take a very good, if not excellent, effort from us to get the job done.

Agreed!!!

Plum played one of the best games of her career against us in Norman. We won. Plum and Washington played well in Seattle last year. We won.

It probably does provide Washington with some incentive to beat us. But, it also provides us with something that we seem to lack against Baylor---the knowledge that we can beat them. I don't think we'll let Washington beat us before the game starts. That makes a difference.

Washington was #4 in scoring margin and #6 in scoring offense. But, they were only #140 in scoring defense. They shoot and hit a lot of three-pointers. But, I think we rebounded quite well against them in each of the past two years (46-41 in 2015-2016, 43-30 in 2014-2015). Two years ago, Kay Kay was 9 of 13. Last year, Maddie went off for 15. Both years, we dominated the offensive boards.

We've pretty much let Plum shoot and worked the boards.

I'm not sure what to expect. It concerned me that we displayed some of the entire year's issues against the Zags.

But my main concern is playing on the road. If you have been watching many tournament games, home teams almost always win. At least part of that is the fact officials can be intimidated by a loud home crowd, and end up impacting games - just like they do during the season on home courts.

Let's hope that does not happen in this game - but I sure wish this game was at LNC.

We definitely won the board battle both years. 43-30 in Norman in 2014-15 and were a +12 offensive boards. 2015-16 was another story as the huskies did a much better job with us winning the battle 46-41 with the offensive boards being about even with the Sooners being a +1.

The big difference between the two games other than offensive rebounds was shooting BTA. In Norman our +12 offensive boards allowed us to win the second chance points by a +16.

In Seattle although we won the battle on the boards Washington was a +6 points in the paint, a +4 second chance points, +10 points off TO's and +2 fast break points. But the Sooners were a +9 points BTA as the huskies only shot only 25.9% BTA while we shot 38.5%

This year's Washington team is an excellent shooting team, much better than the last two years, 47% from the field and 38% BTA. They average making 10 3's per game. It appears our defense and rebounding will again be key as the huskies have a +7.7 rebounding margin.

I hope the girls win this one for themselves. They deserve a real break.

Excellent Thoughts, OH.

I suppose many have been watching the games the past couple of days. Have you come away thinking some of the things I have?

1. ESPN is an enemy of WBB. This afternoon they showed only the UCONN massacre. With 3 other games to choose from why show that trash runaway. It is hard to imagine anyone wanting to watch that. They have finally switched (the UCONN game ended) for a few minutes of a contest (Tenn-Louisville). They promised to show the contest in a given area that matched the team(s) from that area. So why not show us at least 10 or 15 seconds of the K State game? But if you look at the ESPNW site much, about 99% of their stories are about UCONN slaughters. Oregon and Duke is a 5 point game. Why has that been hidden from TV viewers?

2. But that leads to another question. Why is only one little channel showing anything from the Women's Tournament? WBB is dying - at least somewhat by the way it is handled by the NCAA.

3. No one is watching these games live. K State's arena ( I watched part of it on a streaming site) was not even better attended than one of our regular season games. It isn't just OU WB that is struggling to get fans to attend - it is nation wide, with only a few exceptions. Even the Louisville arena is mostly empty. Lots of seats filled in the center of the lower bowl - but the two higher levels not even lighted - or sold at all.

4. There are a lot of just basketball skillwise STUPID players. How many times does a foolish player when being pressed dribble into a corner - especially near the center line - and lose the ball. No more about SC until all coaches can teach their players to NEVER do that.

I could go on, but I'm tired - and you probably are too.

Very true!

Is Holly gone??? I can't imagine them keeping her with the results she's had with top 5 talent. But maybe Pat's strings save her. Guess we'll see.
