I agree that 6 wins would be good for this team but I will not compliment Capel for 6 wins given that he is responsible for the roster. If we buy that line of thinking, Capel should keep his job forever regardless of results so long as he wins more games than we would estimate based on the available talent.

Nobody approves of the talent we have. However, it's not unreasonable to evaluate Capel's coaching this season based on what he's done with the talent he has, ultimately, that's how every coach is evaluated.

As i've said numerous times, I think Capel has done a nice job this season with what he has to work with.

Nobody thinks that's an acceptable standard every year. I just happen to think it's fair this year.

If we lose out I am not going to be happy. Coming into the conference season I thought this team could conceivably go 1-15 in league play, but after the 4 game winning streak that showed me that this team does have enough talent to at least be competitive against the middle to bottom tier teams in the league. The loss to Nebraska was killer and a game that we had no business losing. We need to win at least 1 of these last 2 games or we'll finish the year on another epic losing streak, just like last year. After we showed some promise earlier in the year it would be very disappointing to just go into the tank yet again.

With Myers retirement before he fired Knight, he basically thumbed his nose at Tech and said his relationship with Bobby Knight was more important than his relationship with Tech. I would bet Hocutt (new AD) is considering keeping Knight for one more year until he can assess the situation.

Personally, I'm glad Myers is gone because he has been a thorn in OU's side from day 1.

Hocutt will can Knight very quickly.
