The Elephant in the Room is Named Brady

I’ve been as critical of Manek as anyone. I even compared him to Bookie Radley-Hiles which is the ultimate insult for an OU athlete. That said, he was very good last night. He’s only got a handful of games left at OU. Let’s hope he plays like that in every single one.

Duuude. Too far. Bookie is the worst player of any major sport at ou in the last 21 years

Manek was good on offense last night... but he was atrocious on defense. Kalib Boone had the easiest 17 points of his life last night. Watch the highlights, all on Manek. Every bucket was basically Manek just giving it to him.

Not necessarily. OU game plan was obvious - Manek was to double team Cade off every ball screen. Multiple buckets were made by Boone due to pass out of double team. No rotation or slow rotation by guards. No way OU was going to let Cade torch them for 40 again last night.

You may be right. That seems to be a pattern in the last few games. Not that long ago this team was firing on all cylinders. KSU changed that by taking us out of our game and muddying it up to take away our mojo. Nothing has been the same since that game, and maybe we were never as good as we wanted to believe. We were winning with more heart and hustle than skill.

Another pattern we can’t deny. This decline at the end of the season! To me, that is more troubling than anything else.

100% agree....

KSU provided the blue print and osu copied it with better athletes. Get up on us in the perimeter and take away our 3 man weave. Then osu went zone and we were still trying to set screens on offense. It's like at times we only have one offensive set and if that gets shut down we have no idea what to do.

I disagree....it's ALL the time

I will say I thought in Norman we handled the zone better, got a few good looks but didn't keep attacking the high post ....couldn't believe 2 days later it was like we'd never seen zone.

We did EXACTLY what a zone is suppose to do...shoot from the outside. Fortunately we made a few.

I see almost zero similarities between the KSU game and the two OSU games. Stylistically they were completely different games, and we actually played pretty efficient offense against the Pokes, especially Saturday. The one common theme in the three games was giving up crucial second chance points that cost us in all three games, but OSU didn’t disrupt our offense nearly as well as KSU did.
