He is now the best rebounder on the team..

8 boards per game....

If Ray Willis would have remained with the team, he would have certainly led the team in rebounding.

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone heard where Ray will be transferring to?

washington will be the next michael jordan, heard it here first.

I predict CJ will average 24 rpg.

we need it.

CJ averaged 20pts and 13rbs this year. However, the ppg is more impressive than the rebound numbers to me, and usually it would be the other way around. If you look at the OK. jucos, most were either very small or had big guys who were projects and non productive. For instance, the second best juco team, Murray St. had a center at 6'6 and a PF at 6'3. With a conference so small, it's a no brainer for him to rack up rebound numbers. Offensively however, they didn't really run alot of plays for him. Most of his points were produced off catches and hustle points. I think he'll average 8pts 6rbs. If we can get a combination of 20pts and 10rbs out of him and Fitz, that is a net plus. However, as it stands right now, Fitz is our center.

CJ's hometown ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stringtown,_Oklahoma

Stringtown is a town in Atoka County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 396 at the 2000 census. It is the second largest town in Atoka County.

Notable natives: Reba McIntire - country singer

Originally named Springtown, for the natural springs that flow out of the hills the town is built upon, the current name is believed to be a corruption. Once home to a bank, theater and pub, the town has declined over the years, both economically and in population. In the past five years, small population growth and the addition of a new cafe have brought new life to the town. Annually in September, the Good Ole Days Festival celebrates the town's past with parade, cookout, and concert.

On August 5, 1932, while Bonnie Parker was visiting her mother, Clyde Barrow and two associates were drinking alcohol at a dance in Stringtown (illegal under Prohibition). When they were approached by sheriff C. G. Maxwell and his deputy, Clyde opened fire, killing deputy Eugene C. Moore. That was the first killing of a lawman by what was later known as the Barrow Gang, a total which would eventually amount to nine slain officers.

In the late 1960s, a tornado touched down in the town directly on top of the (then) recently built Community Center, now the Senior Citizen's Center. The tornado was only on the ground for a few seconds, but during that time the building was almost completely destroyed. This was an unusual occurrence for a tornado to touch down in the town itself, given its being situated between two chains of steep hills.

The nearby Mack Alford State Penitentiary is a large source of employment in the county. It was an internment camp for enemy POW's in World War II.

Despite its small size, Stringtown (2003 pop. est. 401) is the second-largest town in Atoka County, behind Atoka (pop. est. 3,100) and ahead of Tushka (pop. est. 350).

CJ is the third d1 prospect in the last 4 years from Stringtown. James Watson and Tyrus McGee are the others. They've had two other borderline d1 guys as well. Of course Stringtown is a prison town.

I think it is great that a small town Oklahoma kid is getting a chance to shine at OU. I hope he makes the most of his opportunity!

It depends on how our team is. I think a reasonable amount is around 8 points and 5 or 6 rebounds a game but it also depends on how the team is. Most of this team is still a mystery right now.

To add to SoonerTraveler's hostory, locally, Stringtown is often affectionally refered to as " Twinecity"

Anyone else thinking "Stringtown pipeline"?
