If I were Joe, I would give Capel one more year to turn things around. After all, 1967 (44 years) is not that long ago.

Good old Gottlieb was talking to Pat Jones and Craig Humphreys this morning and said the BCG would like the Tech job but that Tech would not go for BCG. BCG failed at Kentucky. I just can't see Joe C going for him.

Then he mentioned that Tech might make a run at Buzz Williams because of his Southern and Texas roots. If Buzz would even consider Tech, OU would certainly have a shot.

He did say that his sources thought that OU might be thinking about a change.

I expect we will hear something shortly one way or the other.

at this point I desperately want BCG because we need a defensive minded scheme coach to get us back to where we were.

How can you possibly be a successful coach and not be defensive minded? KU plays defense. Duke plays defense. Defense wins not offense. Billy Tubbs was all about defense. It was the trapping, full-court defense that led to the offense.

Capel's inability to coach defense is one of my biggest complaints. It has never been good under Capel.

yes....again....I absolutely HATE not caring about ncaa basketball with March rolling around. I don't have that many years left to enjoy it and this crap is ruining it for the ones I do.

That's a pretty compelling article...but his documented history is tough to swallow. 3 arrests for DUI usually means getting more is not outside your realm of possibility - and I got some friends that say it's fairly easy to do in Norman.
