Yes I'm getting a little greedy. But to be honest, a 2 seed is attainable......now let me get myself off the floor. It would likely take no less than a split between Texas and Baylor in Norman....and then we would have to win the remaining games....which is a tall task to say the least. We might even be able to squeeze onto the 2-line with a loss in Stillwater, but if that is the case, we would probably need to make the Big 12 Championship game in KC.

The other factor is the teams around us (and specifically above us) like Nova, Bama, Houston, Virginia, Tennessee and Iowa all need to drop a game or two....and that may provide some cushion for us in case we slip in Stillwater.

I say why not.

Wonder whether we will get to play Baylor again. They have missed so many I doubt they can make them all up. We should be favored in all remaining games except that one. But I suspect they will all be tough games.

I would like a #2 seed for bragging rights, but strategically I would prefer a #3 seed as long it wasn't in Gonzaga's or Baylor's region.

Yep....I don't see any way that Baylor gets all of their games in. They were supposed to play WV this week.....had back-to-back games with them scheduled for Monday/Thursday. But it probably works to their advantage to a degree. I would like a shot another shot at them, but we likely won't get that chance.

why would you prefer a 3 to a 2 strategically? I get preferring a 6 to a 4 or 5, but a 3 instead of a 2 doesn't make as much sense to me.

The emphasis is staying out of the Gonzaga or Baylor region. Looking for the best path to the Final Four

Yeah there is almost no way they will make them all up. They will almost surely make up one of the games against WVU but beyond that, I have no idea what the league will decide. TCU is also short on games played so maybe they will make that one up?

Yes, I'm curious what the conference will decide leading up to the Big 12 tournament. The Big 12 tournament starts on Wednesday the 10th, so theoretically, up to 3 games could be "made up" starting on Monday, March 1st through Saturday March 6th (i.e. Monday, Thursday, Saturday). Also, Thursday the 25th is another potential option date for some teams to make up a game (that day we play at Stillwater). I have no idea how this will be handled.

This will likely be an unpopular opinion, but there's no need for a conference tourney. I'd rather see all the deserving teams make it to the Big Dance without further Covid-related issues than squeeze in a tourney that is, especially this season, meaningless.

I don’t really care about the seed. I care about the draw. I want a favorable draw in the tourney and to avoid baylor or gonzaga as long as possible.

This is a good take, make up any games you need to make up, conference regular season champs get auto bids, and get to the indy bubble

There was some talk about this a few weeks ago, but it seems to have died down. Regular season is more important and it would absolutely make sense, but I think the league tournaments are so popular that they’ll probably forge ahead. For a while, there was even talk that individual teams may skip league tourneys if they knew they were a lock for the NCAA tournament and didn’t want to risk Covid. I did hear the tourney chair say today that a team won’t be automatically removed from the tournament based on a single positive test. Which makes sense, but that didn’t mean it would be the case lol.

I am not a Lon Kruger critic, but with a 2-8 record in the Conference Tournament, I doubt that opinion on this board would be unpopular :-).

Why not push all Conference Tourneys back a week.. then NCAA tourney as well. There have to be a bunch of teams looking to make up games.. Just push back a week and make it happen.

I'm thinking we are 3 or 4 seed, but 2 seed is legit shot if we win out. I think it's a small chance if we can beat Texas Tuesday, not play Baylor and beat Okstate and Iowa st/Kstate.

Lot more to it that just push out. Hotels. Gyms. Etc.... planes

Depends on who loses in front of us.... could go 4-1 and still move to a 2 seed.

ummm hell NO...I want to go see this team...I NEED some outdoor P/L Big12 bball fun...:woot

For the life of me, I will never understand this "I'd rather have a worse seed" sentiment. The cold hard facts are the better your seed, the more likely you are to advance in the tournament. Period. Take the #2 vs. #3 scenario.

#2 seeds advance to the second round 94.3% of the time. 3 seeds advance 85% of the time.

#2 seeds advance to the Sweet 16 63.6% of the time. 3 seeds get to the Sweet 16 52.9% of the time.

#2 seeds advance to the Elite 8 45.7% of the time. 3 seeds get to the Elite 8 25.7% of the time.

#2 seeds advance to the Final Four 20.7% of the time. 3 seeds advance just 12.1% of the time.

Further, trying to game out some hypothetical Elite 8 matchup is a fool's errand. What if you get in the Gonzaga region and they get upset in the Sweet 16? Then you are the #2 seed in ostensibly the easiest region. Strategery!!!!

The bottom line is you're going to have to beat some really good teams to make it to the Final Four. Why not increase your odds with a better seed and see what happens?

I think you’re right in general. This year may be an exception because there are two teams who are head and shoulders above everyone else and you’d like to avoid them as long as possible. I think back to 2009 ... we were probably the second best team in the country but didn’t make the FF because we were in the same region as the best team. Obviously if Blake hadn’t gotten his concussion, we would have been a one seed ourselves, but you see my point.
