If Next Year is Just Like This Year

OU did lose WW for the season. He was the best or one of the bext players on the team. I know a certain segment of fans wanted to blame everything on WW but I personally never believed that.

I never saw one poster that blamed EVERYTHING on WW. He got a good dose of criticism but I never saw anyone blame it all on him. Maybe I missed the few posts that did but it wasn't enough that I noticed it.

Why don't we just agree to wait and see what happens in the future rather than continue with all of the constant, never ending, on and on negative comments that we see from a handful around here. We all get it that some just can't wait to post another negative comment that pops into their heads about how this program sucks. I would just like to see them take a chill pill and relax. The constant complaining isn't going to help one iota.

Best post on this board in a long time.

Just to add...none of the continuing crying or moaning on here is going to make one iota of difference in whether Jeff Capel is going to be here next year, the year after that or the year after that. If you are REALLY that dissatisfied, sack up and email Joe C. about it; I've emailed him on a couple of different occassions regarding matters that were troubling me about the program and in each instance recieved a PERSONAL response.

Based on what I've gotten in the past, I'd bet you that he would say that they are constantly reviewing and monitoring the state of the program, appreciate the tradition of the program, but as the stewards of the program the administration is inclined to take a longer term view of the situation than the average fan. Moreover, when making the decision to terminate a coach at the University of Oklahoma, a determination must also be made as to the impact of the circumstances of said termination on the potential pool of candidates who would be best suited for the job.

Like I said, the above is just a hunch...but for someone who is that upset, email Joe C., make it a popint to be courteous, respectful and include your relationship with the University of Oklahoma and your concern and I'll bet, if you are sincere in your concern and can demonstrate ties to the University that go beyond being a "fan", he will get back to you within 48 hours.

Those that don't think OU will be significantly better next year if they return everyone seem lost to me.

It depends what we add. Simply returning the same players leave open the same holes. Guys aren't going to suddenly be good at the things they aren't very good at. Leadership roles aren't going to just fall into place, when it's the same guys.

Several posters.....or at least a few of us, saw the massive holes on this team pretty early in the season, like around the Alaska trip. I stated that those holes weren't something that would be fixed this year, b/c the current players on the roster simply weren't capable.

Honestly, this team needs some new blood. Not just on the roster, but in the rotation, or starting lineup. I just simply cannot believe that WW, Tiny, and TMG are going to come back next year with completely different attitudes. That isn't a knock on any of them as people, it's simply human nature. Too much has happened. Things have gotten too bad. IMO, the only way to be "significantly" better next year is to break up the team a bit. Maybe Willie going pro would be enough. Maybe Tiny leaving would be enough. I don't know. None of us are privy to EVERYTHING team-related.

Next year won't be just like this year. We won't have 4 freshman playing big minutes.

Same goes for North Carolina.

I didn't blame everything on WW, but there was times that it was close to that in my mind. The game at Waco was one example. But even I'm not dumb enough to blame it all on him because TMG was benched for the 1st half that game.
