Again, I will believe it when I see him cash a check. To me this sounds like he could have been tested for this when they wrote the policy. You seriously think (just because ESPN says so) that insurance companies offer up $1,000,000 for $5,000 over pre existing genetic disorders? Wouldn't they do a medical screening before selling the policy?
If this particular risk is insured they will pay the policy but people need to read the fine print, not the word "Elite" or base their opinion on what an agent or reporter believes will be covered.
I hope he gets paid but I worry for him and will continue to worry for him until he is actually paid or the company admits it is covered.
