Re: Isiah cousins commits to ou!!!
No, you interpreted the article correctly. I think what some are saying is that players can't always follow the desires of their heart in picking a school. Coaches have to assign players to a position based on team needs and where they are the best fit.
Cousins may very well play the one at OU. I hope he proves to be the best point guard we've had in years. I would also love to see Stevie Clark in a Sooner uniform in 2013.
But the one thing I never want to see again, is an OU team struggle to score, move the ball on offense or stall out when the back up is on the floor, because we don't have more than one option at the most important position on the team.
In one of the articles linked on here, Cousins says he's a pg and wants to play for a coach that will let him play his game. I believe he also averaged 16pts and 8assts per game. He might be a bit of a hybrid like Hornbeak, but it sounds like he wants to play the point. Forgive me if I misread the article!
The thing I love is the length and versatility the 3 guards committed bring to the court. Heild sounds like a pure 2 guard, which means OU could have a backcourt of Heild, Hornbeak and Cousins in a couple years. Sounds like a tremendous backcourt with versatility that will be able to run, defend and score. I'm just giddy over this!!!
