It's tough to win on the road

when three of your starters (Pledger, Clark and Grooms) score a combined 15 points on 6 of 27 shooting from the field.

Truly pathetic basketball for any OU team! :facepalm

And that was our second-best chance to win on the road (slightly ahead of Tech). Well, maybe A&M too. Not good.

I have watched Lon rebuild programs but this will take a little longer than we thought....

It's not too hard to teach a team a new offense or defense. It's really hard to teach a team that has been soft for 2 years, to be tough. That is Coach Kruger's biggest challenge.

I love LK and the job he has done. The kids are prepared and giving excellent effort for the most part.

But frankly, OU is 3-4 years away from competing as an upper echelon Big 12 team.

That isn't bagging on the kids, but the talent is not there. Too many role players and not enough players.

3-4 years? That's ridiculous

Sorry bounce, we disagree I guess.

I watch these other teams and just don't see that OU is matching up talent wise. That doesn't mean OU isn't going to win any games, just means OU has to maximize its potential most every night to win in the Big 12.

I think LK is doing a great job, but it aint' always x's and o's, it's Johnny's and Joe's.

It's going to take time, imo.

3-4 years??? This isn't football. Much easier to get good quick..a few good players can totally change things fast. I think our team next year, with all of our key guys coming back...plus we add Amath, Jarion Henry and 2 4 star guards who are both athletic, 6'4 and can score.

We could potentially be VERY good next year. Instead of someone like CJ or Honre getting minutes, you'll have a guy like Amath playing. Big difference. Huge difference.

Kruger should have kept Goff. Arent has been worthless thus far. Goff has been way more productive for Marshall this year.

If it truly is Jim us and joes that are the problem, it can be turned around in one year.

Sam Grooms may be a good PG but he just doesn't score enough. We need to either get rid of him or Clark from the starting lineup because we just don't get enough points from our guards. Blair may turn the ball over a bunch but he can score and needs to start and play more.

I'll bet Lon is saying to himself, man what a stupid move to come to Norman, no matter how much money I got. The only think I can look forward to each game is YO time.

Despite our horrendous shooting, I was disappointing in our lack of inside defense and rebounding. We kept giving them shots because we couldn't secure a defensive board. How do you let The Lollipop Kid drive the lane multiple times?

In their defense this was the worst group of referee's I've seen in a long time they saved Travis Ford's job last night.

Bounce, hope you are right. It can be turned around in one year, if you are getting high level recruits that make immediate impacts.

I'm not saying OU can't be middle of the pack in the Big 12 and make the NCAA's on occasion but it's going to be a while before they are upper echelon in the conference on a consistent basis.
