Jakie Sandefer

I know this is a basketball board, but I see on several boards that the leader of the Sooner alumni, Jakie Sandefer has just passed. A halfback for OU in 57-59, he was probably better known for his work to support OU for the past sixty years. If you wanted to do something that would benefit OU, and you needed the support of the Sooner alums, you first contacted Jakie Sandefer. He was their leader, the person who kept in touch and reached across the barriers of time and race to help all things OU.

A great individual, team player, person in life and all the rest you wish to think of, because Jakie was a great person. A tremendous loss for the Sooner Nation.

He grew up wanting to play for Bud and OU and got to live his dream. He was and remained grateful. A good man and a good football player.
