Re-watching the Iowa State game last night, tied at 58-58, Jalen Hill scores 6 of the next 8 pts (2 buckets on offensive rebounds I think), and during that stretch, alters a shot from close range by Iowa State and tips the rebound to Manek. It was the spark that put us back in front with some "margin" as Kruger would say.

You know, it was only 4-5 games ago when people were complaining that we hadn't seen any development from the sophomore class.

I play golf, and that's a little like complaining about a putt half-way to the hole.

I think we have seen some really positive development.

Jalen is smart and is playing very confidently. Love what I am seeing from him.

He's been a decent rebounder this season...he's starting to be a little more assertive on the offensive in.

I thought his drive and layup from the ft line was really strong.

Wasn't he considered a SG/SF ...guessing more face up offensive threat than we've seen. He does his role excellent.

I love Hill. When we were struggling to defend in the first half, I was hoping we would see more Hill in the second half. He always plays all out, and the offense he is giving us has been a nice bonus. He has definitely developed. Vic has also given us a lot of good moments, even though it doesn’t usually show in the box score.

At a program like ours, where the recruiting will always be a tick below the blue-bloods for the elite high school talent, you cannot have enough players like Jalen Hill. A four-year player who steadily improves month to month throughout his career.

More Jalen Hills. MANY more Jalen Hills.

Jalen Hill is a good player. He has good athleticism/skills/basketball IQ. I expect him to be much better next year and the next. But if next year and the year after, we're still picking out a play or two in a whole game to prove "development" like so many other players that passed through Norman in the Kruger era, the problem continues. I think Hill is a lot like Odomes. Let's hope Hill leaves a much bigger mark than Odomes.

Kruger is trying to get Hill to play more confidently with mixed success. If you were at the game you saw Hill go to the bucket earlier in the game and instead of going up strong at the rim, he stopped, pump faked and then got trapped and tried to find someone to kick it out to. On the following possession there was a foul called on the other end and during that lull Kruger motioned emphatically to Hill to go up with the ball. After that, we got the sequence that ended the game. It was a great look at Lon's coaching and Hill's listening. I love to have guys like Hill who have no ego about their game and just want to play hard, get better and win.

I LOVE players like Jalen Hill!! They are 4 year "glue guys"! Hill can guard 1-5, can rebound, can slash some and can hit the open 3! He doesn't have an ego, never has negative energy (bad body language) and never forces the issue.
