Jarion Henry??

Does anyone know if this guy will be here next year? Looking at his twitter, he seems to think he is OU bound. Is OU still interested in him? I saw we had coaches at the National Juco Tournament. Just wondering what we are going to do with the last scholarship...save it for a transfer, use on Henry, use on an unknown Juco, or just save it for next year??

I believe since he went the JUCO route, he has to be there 2 years. So, he might not be an option till next year's class.

Yes, he will not be at OU next season.

That has been on there for over a year, I think. More likely that he just hasn't taken it off yet.

I think there is an outside shot Henry ends up at OU next year, but I think it's unlikely, and far from a sure thing. The staff wouldn't still be out recruiting if that were not the case.

Yes they would because they would be recruiting for next year. I tend to agree it is questionable about Henry but I don't agree we know that based on the fact the coaches are recruiting.

I wasnt refering to the OU in his twitter handle. I looked him up to see if he had said anything about the team being in the tourney and saw where he told tony Jefferson he was working to get his grades so that he'll be at OU next year. I just drew my own assumption that means if he makes his grades he's in. I know it's always been a question whether he'll take care of business, but I would think he wouldn't say something like that if the staff had moves on from him.

SG: Hornbeak/Booker
OG: Hield/Cam/Neal
PF: M'Baye/Bennett/Cole
C: Spangler/Hamilton

I think he is probably a stretch 4 in the mold of M'Baye, offensively at least. Is he better than Bennett? Cam?

That would be my guess. But, it has been hard for me to stay current on what kind of production Henry has been getting in JC. I was pretty high on the Henry deal early on. Now, not so much.

From everything I've heard and the very little I've seen, he looks and sounds like a lengthy 3 or a very slim 4, stretch 4 like you say. Passing, versatility, and rebounding are apparently his strengths. I think his time might depend on his skill level and willingness as a defender. I picture him as a poor mans Daryn Selvy ( don't know how accurate that is). It may come down to how physically ready Hamilton is and how much Cam plays on the wing. Maybe gets some time as the 2nd big off the bench with Hamilton behind Bennett?

I don't figure he'd really be an integral part of the mix but if he were to come in and be somewhat effective, I could see him fitting in the rotation below. It would depend on Bennett's development and Cam's on the Wing if he would even play on the perimeter, ala M'Baye. He could very well come in and see mop up minutes.

No. I don't think it is remotely too early to recruit jucos for next year. I think these coaches are constantly evaluating players, especially the assistants.
