Come on down! Be a Sooner. :OUbball-logo:

He would be an ideal wing/forward defensive presence for next year's squad. He is also uber athletic (think Juan Pattillo but with more outside game and less inside game).

West Virginia worries me a bit in this recruiting battle, but he would get more playing time at OU. Plus, I bet we would take his buddy Goff next year.

I think Poland is super athletic also...I have heard nothing but great things about this kid...from what I am hearing he is just a shorter version of cam...except cam has a slightly better jump shot...this kid would greatly improve our athleitc ability, and that is something we missed dearly this year

Not saying these kids would ever be on the floor together, or not even saying ww is coming back
but imagine how athletic these five would be

1) ww
2) poland
3) clark
4) jones
5) gallon

we are still in on some very very athletic kids, we just have to hope the stars align

Starters:

Carter or West
Poland
Davis
Gallon
Aziz

Bench:
Taylor
Clark
Pledger
Fitzgerald

Is he jumping from JUCO this year or is planning staying? Didn't he redshirt?

Can't imagine him wanting to stay in the Jayhawk if he can jump to a high major right now.

I know that some of you may jump on me about this...but I really feel cade may be best coming off the bench...he could bring alot of needed energy and skill off the bench and he would not cry about it...I think you start poland and clark together and give them a few minutes to see how they mach up against the opponent...then bring cade in for whomever is not matching up well

I see cade as the perfect energy booster off the bench...I believe that was a big issue this year is that we had noone coming off the bench giving us a huge energy boost / spark

I just think after what happened this season that Capel is going to have a senior in the starting lineup over a freshman. Remember that being a "starter" does not automatically mean you have to play 35 minutes a game.

I see what you are saying...I wouldnt consider cam or tj in the same class as some of these other freshman...they seem like real good kids who are willing to learn...

I just see cam in the starting lineup...he has to many abilities to not be awarded a starting spt (assuming he listens and hustles)...so I would imagine if cade has to be in the starting lineup he bumps down to the 2
But I think cade is better served coming off the bench...he would be a huge boost of energy

I dont know if id like a WW running the point. He hasnt shown strong leadership, and tends to take bad shots. would he even be willing to pass it to an open guy instead of taking it in for another brick?

I disagree, I think WW in his freshman showed leadership qualities and the ability to pass the ball....I think the emotions between tmg and ww is what threw things off this year...

It may sound a bit stereotypical....but I worry about someone named after Poland.

I mean....how many of him will it take to bring the ball up the court?

Poland is a two way scorer. Slashing and shooting. He would fill an offensive void left by TMG and Tony.

So start the cry babies and make the men sit on the bench?

I think it's time Capel go in the direction of rewarding the team first attitude and those that play for themselves can sit. While they're sitting on the bench trying to figure out how to get more playing time, they can watch Cade play and learn how to play at OU.

I'm not suggesting that Capel doesn't demand this from his team because most likely he does however, it was clear that this team wasn't interested in all of that.

Is cam a cry baby? Is poland a cry baby?
Who are you talking about? WW? Gallon?

So you are saying bench WW and Gallon?

I'm not referring to any one player. I am referring to the coach's methods when it comes to playing time. My response was in reference to this statement:

I really feel cade may be best coming off the bench...he could bring alot of needed energy and skill off the bench and he would not cry about it.

The fact Cade DOES NOT CRY when others do, should award him playing time over them IMO. I feel the idea of penciling in ANYONE anymore based on hype or ratings should be thrown out until they get on campus and earn playing time by showing first they can be a team player both on and off the court. If they don't show any signs of that then they sit no matter who they are or how hard they were recruited. This is just how I feel playing time should be dealt out if you're a coach.

As fans, of course, it's different. When a highly regarded kid comes in we expect that they'll start but that's also w/the assumption that they'll be team players. We know that's not the case with all highly regarded players. So it's sort of a perfect world when it comes to us (the fans) arranging the starting lineups but when it comes to the coaches, they need to make sure the kids that are starting are those that have earned it because after all they are setting the standards for those on the bench not getting as much playing time. Start the guys that have bought in and let them set the standards. If that means 5 Cade Davis's then you start 5 Cade Davis's.

If Huggins and West Virginia have offered, I'm sold.

Cade will start the year as a starter and there is no doubt in my mind. Now if someone plays well enough to dethrone him Cade will be the first to offer to come off the bench but he is starting the year as a starter.

Poland would be a great get!
