You're talking about a guy with one staffer signing 6 prospects and gettting one more 2011 recruit. This guy is trying to get that bitter taste out of his mouth.

I agree 100% percent.... I have been one that has questioned his ability to coach but one thing is for sure he is doing everything he can to right the ship

Agree...if anyone doubted his commitment to OU, they were clearly wrong...

Very true.If he was even considering looking for another job I don;t think he would have put this much effort into gathering talent for OU.This is POTENTIALLY the best spring class ever signed.

Well said. He's working his arse off.

Agreed. Jeff is definitely signing a team with some length. Let's hope these guys make a far better team collectively. Gotta be better than our Mikkie D special last year of leaderless, me-first, pouting, no defense playing prima donnas.....

Exactly. One has to question if Jeff worked as hard last year as he has this offseason...maybe he, too, had a sense of entitlement after the elite 8 season?

Regardless, it's behind us now and let's hope for better results next season and get the program back on track.

Guys he's had this commitment all along. Programs just go through adversity. Glad some of you are finally realizing this. Please sit back and watch as he builds a basketball team we will all be proud of. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

What?

WHERE would someone ever get the idea that coach Capel didnt try hard enough?

I am sorry but that's just plain stupid.

There has never been anything to suggest he didn't put forth 110%. Now, there have been ideas or suggestions that some other actions might have been more beneficial...but the effort has never been a question from coach.

I don't know if Jeff didn't work hard. He'll probably say he didn't do a good enough job. But the only thing I think he really did wrong last year was have that group of players together. Because obviously that group didn't work at all together and that's why most of them are gone.

I can see how you can get the team not working hard enough as a reflection of the coach therefore you can say he didn't work hard. But I disagree with that completely. Yes it's a coach's job to get a team to play as a team but sometimes the situation won't allow that, especially in basketball which can turn into a one on one game.

Capel worked his butt off last season, he just wasn't successful. Taking away locker rooms, playing time, etc. usually shows a coach is working to right the ship, and usually players respond to that. Last years team did not, however that does not mean he wasn't working hard

No doubt coach worked his butt off. Before the home game against OSU, he showed the team a video of Wayman's courageous battle with cancer. The guy pushed every button imaginable. There just wasn't one that could work. Even after beating Texas when we celebrated the life of the greatest basketball player in OU history, it was short-lived because two guys chose to get themselves in the headlines that evening. It was just a miserable, rotten year, and we should all be glad when November comes around so we can finally forget about '09-10...if that's somehow possible.

This. Coach is definitely a hard-worker especially in recruiting.
