Je'lon Hornbeak Interview

How about a summary of the article for those that are not ESPN Insider members?

I don't know what is ok to re-post since its a members-only article, but the interview really shows Je'lon and OU in a very positive light. He is super excited to be coming to Norman and is already trying to get his game ready to fit in with next year's team. He seems like a really good kid.

You can post anyting you want in your own words. You can't cut and paste someone's story.

So if Hornbeak says he is really, really good three point shooter with a 44% average in high school you can say "Hornbeak averages 44% from behind the arc and is considered an excellent 3 point shooter". It is called free speech and protected by the First Amendment. Now it is possible you made an agreement with the source not to discuss it but I really doubt that happened but I suppose it could be included in the contractual terms you approve when you sign up for a site.

Denver is correct. Paraphrasing your own interpretation of the contents of a premium article is acceptable. Copying and pasting that story is not.

I also try to give the premium source credit by posting a link to the article. The same is true of an article or editorial I read in newspapers. If they're smart business people (and believe me some are not), they know that the exposure to their web site or newspaper has value. When it's free, that's even better.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this kid start next year along side Grooms and Pledger. He can handle the ball, he defends and can shoot from behind the arc. All three qualities are exactly what OU needs this year.

I don't think Hornbeak or Hield will start, but I do believe that both of them will play meaningful minutes later in the season.

The only thing I've seen of Hield is on highlight videos. But I was really impressed with Hornbeak in the game I watched several weeks ago. In addition to the qualities you referenced, he appears to be a kid with a high basketball IQ and above average court vision. He also has great hands and a nose for the ball. IMO, his defense alone will earn him time on the court.

I don't think he will start either but I wouldn't be surprised if he did because he seems to be the perfect glue and blue collar player OU needs. The ability is there and even better he has an unselfish attitude.

If he is just the 7th man in the rotation, OU is a better team because that means he is a better player than the current 6th man in the rotation (Blair) and the current 7th man in the rotation (Neal). (I am assuming M'Baye will be a starter or the 6th man. If M'Baye starts, I am assuming Cam Clark is the 6th man.)

Personally I don't see how OU is not a signficantly improved basketball team next year. Just having the option of going to the two freshman has to make OU better. If you didn't notice, Fitzgerald said M'Baye could be one of the best players in the conference. He would know.

Unless Blair and Neal get better this summer these guys will be playing ahead of them.

I think Blair's role will be relegated to being strictly the backup point guard. I'm not saying that as a bad thing. I believe Blair will improve, which will allow Grooms to get more rest. We will just have other individuals earning his current minutes at the 2.
