Let's just say, I certainly hope this doesn't happen.

OU 10
VCU 7

Haha. While the Capel connection would make it kind of cool, I'm not sure there is a worse matchup in the country for us, than the team that presses start to finish.

I wouldn't hate the Louisville matchup in round 2 (err.....3) though.

Man I don't want either the way we handle the press. Those guards at Louisville are both good Smith and Silva I believe. And VCU is better than a 7 seed the way they are playing now.

Yeah, VCU is definitely one of the teams I wouldn't want to see in the first round.

I wonder how the posters who were worried about facing Butler would feel about being matched up against the team that destroyed Brad Stevens' team last week? Stevens is a great coach. But he was no better than average in that game.

And we are probably better than a 10 seed. I would think we are about a 7 seed right now.

I think the committee looks closely to rpi and strength of schedule. Which will be beneficial for the sooners.

Agree, if we win two this week. Make noise in the conference tourney and possibly get to the 5 or 6 line!

I think they have OU too low and might have VCU too low too. VCU is probably a 6 seed and if they win their tournment might get a 5 seed. Regardless, I wouldn't worry about playing VCU, especially in a first round game because Kruger will have plenty of time to work against the press.

They know how to break the press. We have physical limitations that even LK can't fully overcome.

Besides, they'd have what, 2-3 days to work on the press if we knew we were going up against VCU? That isn't much time considering we've worked on it all season already.

We might have Buddy Hield back and that would definitely help us break the press. We actually did much better against Iowa State's press. I haven't seen much of VCU but surely they don't have better athletes than Iowa State. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

After VCU's destruction of Butler I think they are a tad bit higher then a 7 right now - let's take care of business these next 2 games and see where things end up. Would much rather prefer being on that 7/10 line then 8/9 though.

I guess we've been so bad for so long, it's understandable that some of us are intimidated by a team like VCU.

Or that some of us understand matchups, both good and bad.

I don't care who we play, as long as we are in the tourney. After the last 4 years, this is a blessing to see. Next year I will have higher hopes

I keep hearing/seeing people say/write this stuff. I am fired up about making the tournament too, but, hell, I'd like to do some damage in the thing too. It's great to be invited to dance but let's root for a low seed and a good matchup and dance our asses off! Because of what Osby and MBaye provide as far as versitility as posts and the way our offense is clicking, we are a tough out. If we can get Buddy back healthy and get back to guarding like we did earlier in the season, this team can do more than make the tourney. We can do some damage.

I'm not intimidated by VCU at all. I think everyone is giving way too much credence to their destruction of Butler. First, Butler has been tanking the last several weeks....they've lost to St Louis twice (good team), to Charlotte (decent team) and have barely squeaked by the likes of Fordham and GW. Butler is in a serious funk.

VCU is a good team, but they are nothing that we can't handle.

And yet a potential Louisville backcourt matchup doesn't bother you?

I don't think they pressure as much as VCU does, or as well. Maybe I'm mistaken on that. I'm not saying there aren't teams I'd rather face, I'm just saying if we have to face a top 2 or 3 seed in round 2 (or 3, technically), I wouldn't mind if it were Louisville. They seem to underperform in the Dance an awful lot.

You may be right but I really like their athleticism at guard and I...well, let's just say I watched Sammy absolutely collapse against 'mighty' UT's pressure.

And didn't they house us pretty good in the Big Dance during Capel's 2nd year?
