Wooden did not teach blocking out when rebounding. He thought it was "negative rebounding". Instead, he wanted his players to pursue the ball.

He did something right as I believe his first NC team didn't have anyone over 6'4".

And that bodes well for us as we don't really block out either.

We don't block out well and we don't pursue the ball well either. It's a good thing some of our guards don't mind grabbing rebounds.
 
Well the differnce is Wooden had some of the greatest players of his era that could get away with not blocking out. Not sure we have that caliber. hahaha
