6'11 Center Emmanuel Ugboh is having a great year for Iowa Western CC averaging 12.3 ppg, 9.3 rpg and 1.6 bpg. He is shooting an impressive 66.8% from the field. Ugboh has a massive frame and athleticism.

Meets the credentials... he is from the right area, right juco league that normally produces good D1 talent... looks like a legit athlete.

Plays mean and tough... nice spins, hooks, moves, etc. Does everything going toward the rim.

I got excited when I saw Ughoh has a “massive frame,” and read “he plays mean and tough.” Now we’re talking!

Is this a sign our coaching staff may be tired of seeing our bigs pushed around inside? Polla is not one of them, of course. He does a little pushing of his own, too much I’m afraid.

Looks like our kind of prospect, bigabd. Good find!

He seems like the opposite of what we currently have.

So someone is leaving at the end of this season?

I know this competition isn't big 12 completion, but sign me up for a big that wants to post, drop step, and go up with contact

It probably won't be quite as easy for him to get post position three feet from the basket, catch the ball, turn and dunk in Big 12 basketball. If he comes to OU and has no ability to score outside five feet, I can already hear people comparing him to Polla.

Note -- I am not saying I know enough about this kid to say whether he could be a successful player at the high major level. I just would like to see some video of him doing things other than dunking on smaller guys. He clearly has a bigger, stronger frame than our recent bigs (Polla being the exception), but I'm curious about his skill and athletic ability.

Something tells me Merritt won’t be making it to Norman.

Count me happy to be pursuing a kid taller than 6'9" :woot

Not crazy about the list of schools interested in this kid: Uconn, East Tennessee State, Kent State, Missouri State, North Dakota, Ole Miss, Rutgers.

I want to be optimistic about a kid like this. He's big, strong, looks aggressive, moves good for his size, but the recent history of JUCO kids brought in by this staff makes me really hesitant. I guess I'm still secretly optimistic....Darn these crimson colored glasses.
