Kansas-TCU

In terms of RPI difference between the teams, TCU's win is the biggest upset in the 20 years I've been tracking numbers.

Watching this game tonight didn't make me feel ANY fear for ku... in fact, I feel better about our chances this Saturday more than ever. That loss wasn't just a fluky garne. ku looked absolutely lost and their confidence was shot.

I hope you are right Czech, but I think we will see a fired up KU team come Saturday. I can't believe that both teams will be trying to avoid a 3 game losing streak. The pressure sure will be on the Jayhawks to pull out a win.

I saw a post elsewhere claiming TCU had the worst Kenpom rating of any BCS conference team in the history of that site. That's out of 792 teams over 11 years. And TCU's worse than them all.

Well after the women's game I stopped at Applebees to grab a bite before driving home. What better place to watch the second half than a restaurant full of KSU fans? The only Jayhawk was the bartender and he was suffering something awful. KU could have used :ed tonight.

The Sooners are going to get destroyed :facepalm

That was definitely my first thought. However, from all accounts KU is playing bad and has been for a more than just the last two games. OU can win this if they play to their potential. KU will probably come out hard, but at the same time they may be trying too hard to.

I bought 18 seats together for this game. Coming down from Wichita with 14 Sooner Fans and 4 ku fans. My brother-in-law (one of the KU fans) have been coming down to this game for the last few years. I would like for once to have a good drive home!!!

Speaking of pressure on KU. If I heard the announcer correctly, if they lose to us they will be tied with KSU for the lead in the conference. They play KSU at home on Monday.

Wow. Huge upset.

I knew KU was "down" a bit, but I didn't think they were down enough to lose to a team like TCU. No telling what will happen on Saturday. KU is clearly less talented than in previous years, and a bit offensive challenged. But they are still the type of team and program that could rally around 2 straight losses and come out and bury us.

I usually relish in The gawks losing but I don't think this bodes well for Saturday.

They're tied with KSU right now. Both 7-2

What is strange is OSU beats them with some pretty off the chart shooting. We all know anyone can lose when a team gets hot and the OSU guys were knocking down their 3 point shots. However, TCU didn't shoot all that well (I didn't watch any of the first half but hey didn't score many points). KU just couldn't score points. Additionally, there is a huge difference between OSU and TCU. OSU is a team that can probably beat anyone on the right day. I really didn't think TCU was a team that could beat the better teams.

Bill Self said this is the worst Kansas team since Dr. Naismith lost to the Topeka YMCA. lol Wouldn't want to have to go through practice with him today.

It was downright shocking, but in the short term I can honestly say that I loved it. I saw something on the ESPN ticker last night that said it was the most shocking loss, in terms of some sort of RPI-like rating gaps (KU was sixth, TCU was 246th) in ages. :woot :woot

As for Saturday, one thing that can help the Evil Birdies go to their third straight loss is to pack the place with OU fans. It makes me sick that KU fans have such easy access to seats at the LNC, although I suspect a lot of them are "haters" from in-state, from the days when Tubbs was at OU. I even knew a guy in Edmond who bought the old UCO fieldhouse scoreboard so he could display "Home 79, Visitors 83" at his restaurant. :facepalm

What is this a reference to? Did Central State (that was the name of the school until about 1988ish) beat OU once?

Was that Cowboy Bob?

UCO is Central State. They changed names in the 90/91 timeframe.

The guy must have been a KU fan and bought the scoreboard to display the score of the 88 OU-KU ncaa final game.

Can't even bear to listen today as local talk radio is collectively wetting their pants. It's a good day in the neighborhood. :clap:clap:clap

Hmmm... by this logic, after the loss on Saturday in Lawrence they should have put about 150 points on an absolutely hapless TCU squad.... But, gee... that didn't happen.

So, is it after the SECOND unexpected loss that they finally decide to stomp the next team? I guess I don't understand the rules. lol
