Karron Johnson?

Was unaware he had recommitted to OSU during JUCO. Unless they meant his original commitment out high school.

Hope he can be successful for both he and his family's sake.

Looks like he's re-committed to OSU...again.

Where did you hear that? Last I heard was that Baylor was the leader.

I'm hearing that Baylor is in a very strong position to lock down Nash. Some of these top 100s will start popping in August. I'm not discounting OSU- he definitely has good relationships with the coaches and there is the Eaton angle. But things look good for Baylor to land him. They will have lots of pieces to keep Nash in the national spotlight- Cory Jefferson, Quincy Acy, Anthony Jones, Nolan Dennis, AJ Walton and possibly Perry Jones for a 2nd year.

Lace Dunn leaves after this year and that is a lot of shots/production to replace. I'm sure OSU is telling him that he will be the man also. But Baylor arguably has better pieces in place to give Nash an opportunity at a deeper NCAA run. Obviously, the more exposure, the greater the chance to increase your NBA draft stock. And I think this year will be a more successful season for Baylor than OSU. The longer Nash takes into the Fall to make his decision, the more probable it will be for Baylor in my opinion.

Any reason a top 5 recruit like Nash is down to Baylor and OSU? Seems a bit odd. Just sayin........................

Probably because Baylor is one of the hottest programs around and just went to the elite 8 and OSU is the school his brother went to. OU would be right in there with them if they didn't have such a miserable year. OU started recruiting this kid in the 8th grade, bringing him to their elite camps.

Now this does play a part in some of it sure. Do I believe it's all of it? No. Do I believe it's a clean recruitment or any top 10 recruit is clean? No. Am I saying OSU and Baylor are any dirtier than most any other program? No. Hell, UK is basically making a joke of the NCAA and sliding around rules with relative ease. Oh and the hottest school around is UK and not too many recruits really mention Baylor as one of their top choices. I wouldn't consider them "one of the hottest around."

5hr- no offense but you must not follow recruiting that closely. Baylor is on the short list of about 20 guys in the top 50 in the 2011-2013 classes. Drew has always been a relentless recruiter. Certainly the recent success has made it an easier sell.

I get the feeling Nash is looking for the big boys to recruit him. UK has offered, but I think it's conditional on guys like Quincy Miller and Anthony Davis going to UK or elsewhere.

Also for kicks, my prediction on the 2011 OSU Class is...Karron Johnson, Damien Leonard and Bruce Barron.

You are right on the arguably status. As an OSU fan I'd disagree, but that is my biased perspective.

Baylor needs to show they have a decent pg before I can say they'll be solid team this year.

Baylor has plenty of question marks. But PG is not one. AJ Walton is a stone cold baller. I'm much less confident of Baylor's team this year than I was last year heading into the season. But I am very confident that if AJ Walton, Lace Dunn and Quincy Acy stay healthy... those three will be the most productive players on Baylor's team (and yes I'm including Perry Jones in this thinking).

AJ Walton might lead the big12 in steals and he may contend for the assists title as well (with John Roberson). He will log heavy minutes. He has improved his shot tremendously. Baylor will need Nolan Dennis or Stargell Love to provide quality minutes at guard to be successful. But they will have the best starting backcourt in the conference.

3.8 pts and 2 assists in 17 mins per as a freshman= Stone Cold Baller?

I can't remember being very impressed with Walton when I watched baylor. I must have missed his good games.

He'll have plenty of opportunity to show his skills, but I too can't remember seeing him doing anything of note.

he was playing behind carter.

i agree with dfw, he looked good in his minutes. i'll be more surprised if he has a poor soph. season than a really good one. needs to cut down on turnovers.
