Keizah Lofton - Sooner

She’s been a boot for a month. She ok?
She missed a couple of the bigger end of season AAU tournaments with the injury (ankle?). I assume at least part of the reason ESPN moved her down in the rankings was missing those tournaments so you could not see her compete against the best players in her class. I hope the boot is just precautionary to make sure she is healthy going into her season at Bethany.

From The Oklahoman today:

Bethany playing without Keziah Lofton

Lofton has been dealing with a right tibia injury and had surgery over Thanksgiving Break.

She’s in a boot, but coach Eric Sailer said he hopes to have her back in late January or early February.
Until then, Oral Roberts signee Kayten Donley is taking on an expanded role.
Whether Bethany has Lofton or not, Bethany’s quest for a third straight Class 4A championship won’t be easy.

Does Talia Vann not play for Bethany anymore?? Because I know last year she did with her sister.

in the video attached on X she looks solid to me, certainly more mobile than Landry Allen is, and we signed her. I wonder what's holding her back? We;ve definitely got room to add more kids. Seems like she's not getting many DI offers based on the tweet, but she could DEFINITELY play DII or NAIA, although I doubt she'd want to. Hope she ends up somewhere that'll make her happy.

From James Jackson at 247 Sports:

I got out to Bethany to speak with 4-star football and basketball signee CJ Nickson and will have a story on him tomorrow.

But I wanted to add a positive update. I reported before the high school season that OU Women’s basketball signee Keziah Lofton was going to be out indefinitely with a foot injury. I’ve been told that her progression has gone better than expected and she may play by the state tournament. She has gone through two practices for Bethany.

I have high hopes for her next season. For anyone that actually knows, before her injury was she better than Zya Vann? I know they were on the same team...both rated about the same in their respective classes..

Kenzie way better. gifted talent.

I see Lofton played for the first time this year in a regional game vs Eufaula. Bethany won 59-33 and Keziah had 10 points and 6 rebounds....apparently her minutes were limited as she is having to work herself into game shape.

Yup. She is taking it very slow. Playing 3 to 4 minutes. But 10 points and 6 rebounds within 4 minutes is crazy. She’s gonna be very good for Jennie at Oklahoma. I would not be surprise if she is a starter her freshman year at OU, there is two starting openings next season. she’s very talented. Im excited for hee future. Glad she got surgery on her lower leg now then before her going into College. She had a fracture tibia in her lower leg for some years and she didn’t know but she did mentioned it would bother at times while playing but she said she continued to play on it and they finally went and got it checked out and yea the doctor told her she was playing while having a fracture tibia. So yea glad she is making her way back now. She hasn’t played in well over and year and a half now.

Bethany beat Glenpool to make the state tournament

Senior Keziah Lofton added 14 points in her fourth game back on the court after missing most of the season due to a leg injury.

“Keziah is still working with conditioning issues and soreness. People overlook that when they sit in the stands,” Sailer said “She made some really great plays for us down the stretch.”

The Oklahoma signee connected on 5-of-9 shots from the field. She also grabbed eight rebounds and blocked a shot.
