First team to 40 wins? I get the feeling that game is going to be brick city with two poor outside shooting teams pressuring each other all game long. I know they'll get up and down the floor, but will anyone score?

WVU is a better outside shooting team than Kentucky. They better be because unless they get a few turnovers they'll make no shots at the rim.

WVU is just the type of team that could beat Kentucky. They almost certainly won't, but they play a style that is probably most capable of beating Kentucky.

I don't expect WVU to beat Kentucky; the 'Eers might even get run out of the gym. However, I do believe Huggins is a better in-game coach than Cal, so I don't feel entirely comfortable with giving WVU no chance.

Wish they scored it a little better. Maybe a team like Arkansas or NC would have a slightly better chance for that reason?

I think UK will pull away, probably in the 2nd half, and win by 15+.

I wouldn't be surprised if Huggins doesn't come up with a new wrinkle on his press or other parts of his defense.

That said...I hope WVU wins, but I don't give them much chance. Kentucky has too many big horses!

Huggins did beat the first Calipari team, which was every bit as good as this one.

I didn't follow WVU as closely back then because they weren't in the conference, so I don't know how good they were that year relative to this.

But this Kentucky team is comparable to Cal's other great teams. They just played in a garbage conference this season that allowed them to go undefeated.

Kentucky had 3 or 4 off nights where they might have (emphasis on might have) been in danger of being upset in a better/deeper conference, but we'll never know. And it's not like Kentucky didn't challenge itself in the nonconference. They obliterated KU, played preseason top ten Texas, Providence, North Carolina, UCLA, and @ Louisville. With the exception of Louisville, none of those teams played UK within 10 points.

Based on that, I think it's a little over-the-top to say that a weak SEC is what "allowed" UK to go undefeated.

Arkansas tried to run with Kentucky and Kentucky destroyed them.

West Virginia loses by at least 10. 15 sounds about right to me.

they destroyed arkansas. it was ugly.

I think WVU hangs for a bit then gets blasted in the second half. I hope not though. I think the 15+ is probably right. Not disrespecting WVU - I just think its gonna be too hard for them to put up pts.

Like Villanova/Georgetown, WV will have to do something spectacular, like shoot 78% from the field.

Assuming Kentucky wins, they had better bring their 'A' game against Notre Dame. This is the best Fighting Irish team I've seen since '78. They are explosive.

All I have to say is:

Thank heavens we didn't have to play Kentucky.

In what world is Kentucky not a good shooting team??

And anyone that thought WVU was a better shooting team than Kentucky is outside their minds.

That was a beat down of EPIC proportions, West Virginia should've kept their mouths shut :facepalm

Been kind of watching the UK-WV massacre tonight, and cannot believe that the box score shows UK with only 7 blocked shots tonight. Amazing, it seems to me that the number of blocked shots should be double that amount.
