The first poster who says anything negative about Lattin gets a technical. ;)

Khadeem was my MVP in this game. He made life miserable for WVU's bigs. I know he finished with 9 points, 13 rebounds a host (not sure how many) of blocked shots, not to mention the shots he changed by his presence under the rim.

Let me repeat that rebound stat. That's 13 boards for a player who has been criticized for his rebounding, and rightly so I might add.

I couldn't be happier for that young man!

But his free throw shooting... J/K he came up huge today had 5 blocks before ethereal under 16 timeout in the first half to set the tone early.

When he has energy and is focused on the defensive end (and not on the bench with foul trouble), he elevates the team as a whole. I think part of our defensive woes over the last 3 or so weeks was him not being at his best. But we saw today what he brings and what he is capable of doing night in and night out.

Lattin is the key to this basketball team.

Shooting comes and goes but defense/rebounding/rim protection is critical.

So are you saying good post play is the key to this team? It sure does open things up for Buddy. Also, I noticed OU played a lot harder than they have recently, and they got a lot of 50/50 balls. My only criticism is that OU did not win by 50. That is all.

He's the difference between 4v5 and 5v5. We've been about 3v5 during this skid. Great counter punch win today

He and Spangler did a great job of grabbing rebounds instead of tapping them!!!

khadeem, during the last 3 games, began to push out, and confront the drives by opposing players a little too soon, as he was anticipating the block. This kept moving him more and more out of position. Today he stayed closer to home and allowed the play to come to him and did not leave his feet to early until the right moment.

I think Lattin is a guy teams will need to gameplan around in the tourney. If you let him set up shop and guard the rim, he'll eat people's lunch. Just great timing with the shot-contesting and rebounding, especially if you have no experience against him.

Really enjoyed the emphatic put back dunk at the end of the game too!

My man needs to stay out of foul trouble and attack the boards like today. No room for passive play and any game he gets less then 8 rebounds means he wasn't aggressive enough. He's the engine that'll make us go.

I'm glad we got some post help today...badly needed it. If Khadeem is bringing value, I'm not sure anyone will beat us.

he was awesome in huge spurts today.

he had like 30 seconds there where he single-handedly kept us ahead and in control.

Going forward, we really need to keep Lattin engaged and work Spangler from a true offensive post position more often. Defensive intensity and defensive rebounding will be our rate limiting steps.

We can't get a performance like this from Latt once in a blue moon. We need it each and every night.
