OU posted an "Introducing Kristian Doolittle" article and brief video today. You see/read that here:

What's most interesting is the OU assistant coaches responses to it on Twitter.

Carlin Hartman: "Big time potential in this guy!"

Crutchfield: "Special potential !!"

Perhaps I've missed it, but I haven't seen anything like that by these coaches for the other newcomers "Introducing" video/articles.

That's a first for me as well. Definitely high praise from our coaches for a player who has not played one minute at the D-1 level yet.

I, too, like what I have seen and read about Kristian Doolittle. He already looks the part of a player with a bright future. I doubt if anyone will say he needs to add some muscle to his frame. Impressive body for a kid just out of high school!

I just love getting these top players from within the State of Oklahoma.

From watching him in HS I've thought he can be a more athletic Spangler who doesn't have the confidence issues with his shot. However, he didn't give the effort on every play like Spangler did.

But they are very similar: can both handle the ball, good vision for a post, great rebounders, will be able to stretch the floor, strong & run well.

He has the skills and athletic ability to be a contributor early.

Spanglers heart and motor made him special

The coaches think he has a chance to be special before his career is over.

What is Doolittle's game? It seems like he was a guard a couple years ago at 6-5, who is now a stretch 4 at 6-8. I know he can rebound. Does he have a good mid-range.. back to the basket? Shot-blocker?

Face up jumper out to 17-18 feet. Handles the ball really well for his size, excellent passer too. Really skilled for his size and age.

From what I've seen and heard, I think Roe Osby might be a good comparison. I think he makes an ideal 4 for Coach's system.
