NORMAN, Okla. -- NCAA rules prohibit coaches from conducting practice or individual workouts with student-athletes during the summer. Fortunately for new OU head men's basketball coach Lon Kruger, his April 1 hiring afforded him and members of his staff the opportunity to instruct Sooner players for two hours a week prior to the end of the spring semester.

Kruger recently shared what he saw from OU's nine returning players during those workouts and what he might expect from them during the upcoming 2011-12 campaign. Here's what he had to say...

Talks about Calvin playing primarily on the wing which I think is probably for the best - assuming that Grooms can come in and give minutes at the point next year.
 
Any reason why he didn't comment on Osby?
 
My guess is because he didn't play last year.

He was still a part of the april workouts, and he was on the team last year. That makes sens, I just figured with all of the Osby hype going around he would have mentioned him too.
 
He should of said

"Steven Pledger is the best player I have ever seen with my own two eyes. He is simply amazing. I personally guarantee he will have a better career in the NBA than Michael Jordan."

Seems to be an honest assesment of our team while trying to emphasize the good. Seems like we have a lot of role players. Good to hear Blair has been working hard.
 
His comments about Romero have always been very positive.
