Next year and in 2016/17 OU is going to be very big.

Manyang 7'
McNease 6'10"
Lattin 6'9"
Spangler 6'8" (won't be here in 16/17)
Bufford 6'7"
Odomes 6'6"
James 6'4"
Booker 6'4"
Hield 6'4" (won't be here in 16/17)
Cousins 6'4" (won't be here in 16/17
Woodard 6'
Walker 6'1" (won't be here in 16/17)
Mankin 6'7" walkon
Alade 6'4" walkon

That is about as big as any OU basketball team I can recall. In 88 OU's starting lineup was 6'10, 6'8", 6'5", 6'1" and 6'0". The bench was not as big as this bench will be. In 2002 the starting lineup was 6'10", 6'8", 6'5", 6'1" and 6'1". The starting lineup in 16/17 is probably going to be 7'0", 6'9", 6'7", 6'4" and 6'0. The bench is going to bring more size than either of the teams I listed with a 6'10 post player, a 6'6" wing and two 6'4" shooting guards. Obviously the teams I compared them to were exceptional and these guys have not remotely proven they can play anywhere near that level but OU will definitely be a big team, bigger than any OU team I can recall.

Technically, we might have 6'8" TaShawn Thomas and 6'7" C.J. Cole next year, too. We hope Thomas runs out of eligibility this year because his waiver is approved.

It is a pretty low possibility we would have both right? Aren't we already a scholarship over next year?

Tha'ts correct, if Buddy doesn't go pro, Tashawn doesn't get his waiver, and no one transfers, we will be one over the scholarship limit next year.

True. That is, unless there was an understanding with Cole that his scholarship may not be available every year.

As I recall, he was on an academic scholarship his first season at OU. There is also the possibility he knew from the beginning he would have to contribute to the team beyond the practice court to keep the ship.

All of that is pure speculation on my part. But when a former walk-on is given the chance to earn his way in some form or fashion, it only makes sense to me that the agreement with him was conditional.

Agree!

I left them off on purpose because I don't know what is going to happen. Cole is actually a bit undersized so I didn't really think added much to a discussion about height. Thomas is about average and I am really hoping he can play this year. I didn't want to jinx it by saying he might be at OU next year even though I don't really believe in jinxes.
