Kruger: "This year expectations are much higher"

Coach Kruger: Buddy of course was at Durant's camp and LeBron James' camp, and he played with the Bohemian National Team.

I had no idea Buddy was a beatnik!

It is nice to see KU, Texas, ISU, OU and KSU all get mentioned.

What are the thoughts on Baylor, WVU, OSU, Tech and TCU? When OU played TCU the announcers made a big deal about the ineligible and injured players. Is TCU expected to be improved? Given Baylor's success the last few years and the fact that Drew has generally recruited well, I am surprised they are not ranked.

TCU would be hard pressed to not be improved, but I don't think they're going to be competing for a tournament bid. Still, I'd expect them to win a handful of conference games this year and play some teams tough.

They have Lattin starting... Thoughts?

Assuming we don't hear on Thomas by Next Friday, it would either be him or DJB. Kind of a Toss up IMO.

Unless we go 4 guards with Buddy, Cousins, Woodard, and Booker

I'm OK with it if Thomas isn't eligible. He's probably the long-term answer in the post, so give him some minutes early in the year and see how he handles it. It will probably be Spangler, Lattin, and Bennett rotating in the post .... again assuming Thomas and Buford don't play this season. It's really more important who finishes the game than who starts it......

I did look at TaShawn's twitter account and he still has no idea on the status of his waiver request. "About two more weeks until game time and I still don't know if I'm gonna play or not" followed by "This might be one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through".

This.

If Thomas isn't eligible, and we know Buford isn't, that only leaves Lattin or Bennett. Probably very little difference in the two at this point, though Lattin certainly projects to be much better down the road.

Then start the pup and lets be on our way to the future!

If Thomas isn't eligible then we could see a lot of Lattin in the non-conference games, then see more of Bennett come conference play. The reason I say this is because if we get Lattin in there often early then he'll be more engaged and to try and prepare him for later in the season, but come conference time the wear and tear and the physicality of the conference might be a little much for him at this point.

A lot of truth to that.

I already worry about our post depth if both Buford and Thomas are ineligible this year. That only leaves Lattin, Spangler, Bennett, and McNeace.

4 players with no other real options outside of walk-ons. No guards that I'd call big enough to be considered 3/4 hybrids like a Cam/Buford. And out of those 4 post bodies, one was thought to be a definite red shirt canidate (McNeace) and one wasn't all that impressive last season (Bennett). I know Bennett has probably improved some, but my expectations are pretty low.

We will definitely be a guard driven team, which is fine (my preference actually). I just hope those 4 guys can hold up for the entire season inside.

Maybe Cole can give a few minutes?

Lon has indicated that Cole will get some playing time this season.

Nothing against Bennett but if it is a toss up, I would just as soon see Lattin get the minutes.

I think it would basically amount to them splitting minutes.
