Kruger vs Smith

Ok just for fun! Tubby Smith has recently come out and said that he would have listened had OU decided to contact him concerning the head coaching position at OU...

My question is... would you rather have Lon Kruger or Tubby Smith at OU?






I love the Lon Kruger hire don't get me wrong, but when I read that I immediately jumped out of my seat with "What!??". I would have LOVED to see Tubby Smith finish his career at OU. Either way we have a great coach!

Tubby was initially at the top of my list, with BCG.

That said, I think Lon is a better fit for now. I actually think, given all the legit options, Kruger might have been the best choice. I still would have taken BCG over him, but I'm not so sure that Lon won't be better at OU then Buzz would have been.

I would have taken Tubby and initially hoped we would reach out to him, but I'm all aboard the Kruger wagon now.

Lon. In a heartbeat. No question.

Tubby has won an NC, but if you look at who has done more you have to go with Lon. Tubby benefitted from Pitino's players. Lon has inherited nothing at every stop and built a program at every stop.

LK is better for what we need right now. He's a proven program-rescuer. Tubby is not.
