I have just come to realize that women's basketball officials are typically terrible. The men's game is inconsistent. The women's game is a total crapshoot.

The biggest concern is, we need more guards coming off the bench who can score. It really hurts when two guards like Peyton and Maddie have bad games on the same night and we don't get scoring off the bench either.

I think maddie lost confidence after a couple fouls.

I did notice that when Toby Rowland suggested that officials called fouls on Kay Kay because of her reputation, that Sherri didn't disagree. She just said that she couldn't say that (because the league would hold her hostage).

I think Maddie had some questionable fouls called on her today. I didn't see the travel call clearly. But, she lost four points on offensive foul or traveling calls. Sherri said that Maddie was poised to have a good game until the officials took her out of it. Nine minutes. She also implied that Maddie's absence was what was limiting our offensive flow.

Maddie always has an element of aggression. She has her hands going full speed in front of a player's face when she has the ball, as though to intimidate her.

Sherri suggested that. If you think you will be called no matter what, you have to back off. Sometimes, even that doesn't work.

True. I wonder when they are gonna let Gioya free- probably needs to start doing better in practice. I think that in Derica's case she could struggle against Texas and their tough, athletic guard play. They'll get some buckets on the inside, just like they are probably saying we'll get some buckets from the outside. But if we can take care of the ball against those guards on offense, and not give them easy layups because we just can't match up on defense- that'll be the key. I don't think they are better than Baylor is, so I think we can definitely win.

Maddie and Peyton are gonna have to get free for good looks those games, and Derica is gonna have to keep up. Not to overlook Tech and especially not OSU, but its an intriguing matchup to look forward to.

Women's basketball officiating in general is bad, today was some of the worst. Phantom fouls all over the place.
I personally think texas will beat us easily twice, I saw them play at the Big12 SEC challenge, they have a parade of girls 6'6" who can play. We will have to have a day we shoot very well from the perimeter and no cold spells like today to have a chance.

Exactly, same in the W. It is about not valuing the women's game.

Very frustrating officiating. If that was home cooking, I would hate to get those three officials on a road game.

I agree. I think this group was worst of the year so far. I haven't really noticed officials being too bad this year (for a whole game) until this one. But they really stunk it up.
