KSU post game presser clip

i like the very end you can hear Frank say "what a joke" under his breath

What a crap question.

Basically......"You had a great career, but you're a loser today. How do you feel?"

I wonder if he really thought that question through.

Edit: I'm cool with Mike Gundy standing up for his player a few years ago, but I think he could have gone with a less psychotic sounding approach, like Martin did here.

IMO reporters need to be smacked around if all they can ask is "describe your emotions now" as a question.

I wish Frank had belted the moron. I felt sorry for Pullenn...it was obvious the kid had left it out on the floor and he was very emotional. It pretty much takes a monster of a person to want to make the poor kid cry.

Probably James Hale. What was he doing there, although Manhattan Kansas would be a good place for him. He he hehe/

I think the reporter actually restrained himself with the question, or Frank would have killed him. As he starts talking about all the good things, it sounds like he is about to start blaming him for the loss personally, then thinks of better of it and makes it more general.

Frank overreacted. That wasn't that bad a question.

yeah it was.

Nah. The reporter is clearly just asking Pullen to talk about the contrasting emotions between setting the school's scoring mark but losing the game. Pullen gave a good answer. Frank is probably just mad at himsellf for putting a freshman in charge of executing the final play.

Bingo. The kid missed the screen. Frankie trusted a freshman in that situation and he got burned. Boo Hoo. That brilliant coaching move was almost as bad as the brain fart Johnnie had in the NC game.

Terrible question. Reporter gets one chance to ask a question for his column, and the best he can come up with is, "how do you feel?"

He's a reporter, not a therapist.

Yeah, but Pullen's answer to that question was the most heartfelt thing that came out of the presser. I'm usually not a huge fan of the "how do you feel? " questions either, but in this case it worked.

A little background...

Kellis Robinett is a KU alum and when he was working for a Nebraska paper wrote a very bad anti-KSU article. So, when he was chosen by the Wichita Eagle to become the KSU beat writer, a bunch of KSU alums/fans were very upset with the choice.

So, I would imagine the coaches at KSU have been warned as to his antics and MO. I'm sure if the question came from a KSU friendly press person it may not have set off Frank, but you never know.

As a side note...I just love Pullen. He leaves it on the court every night and is such a competitor. I've enjoyed watching his maturation process from afar. Best of luck, Jacob.

i'd like to echo this. there are very few stars in the big 12 that i want to strangle most of the time, and i've never felt any animosity toward him. he never made it about himself on the court. great kid, even better competitor. really going to miss him.

Agreed. His response to the question is refreshing considering all the crap we have endured the last few years with malcontents like WW, TMG and Tiny. Not one of those guys would be that upset about a loss in college basketball. We need more kids who play with heart and lay it all on the line.
