Did Turner ever end up helping OU sign anybody? He always seemed like he had a foot out the door.

he has wanted out all off season ..

Loss? Yes

BIG LOSS? meh

Dildy looks like he was/is Mosers main guy. AHC was just a title....Turner didn't do much for OU to be honest. What he brought to the table is replaceable....I don't think he was interested in giving his all under Moser.

I AM interested in seeing who he brings in.

To be honest I'd like to see someone with heavy ties to OK hoops.....there are some dudes coming out that can help OU quite often that we aren't getting....give me some of those.

He’ll last a couple of years there. He’s shown that he’s not loyal to coach or program and job hopping for $. More power to him, but hopeful we get someone with one foot out the door.

The bigger thing is Moser has 3 openings. Is he going to fill those spots with former Loyola players and team managers who have never been on the road?

Yeah.

My "wow" is more about:

1. Kentucky...figured they'd hire a bigger name with what Louisville is doing...namely hiring the Wagner grandpa (Milt) to land '23 super recruit DJ Wagner. Their fans were hoping for a bigger name as well (from some light reading post-KT news).
2. Personally, I'm shocked that it took this long for KT to depart. But after the SMU and/or Louisville rumors, I was kind of resigned to thinking Moser would make it work for another year.

I think it's safe to say we'll get Custer and/or Gordon as one of the assistants...maybe both, but I expect one "fresh" hire. I guess we'll see.

I'm not against Custer or Gordon for one spot if they are GREAT at player development. I think he needs to hire at least one more outstanding recruiter, and maybe someone who can develop bigs...

It's easy to see why Moser might be hard to work for since he is balls to the walls about everything and probably expects his staff to be the same.

That's the reputation that Musselman has at Arky, you'll notice his assistants don't stay long.

Having said that, I don't blame Turner for going to UK and working for Calipari.

Custer is 3 years removed from playing. He’s not going to be a player development guy . Custer should be an ops guy at max. Gordon is just Moser’s guy. He gives him more respect than assistant coaches that have been 15 to 20 years in the business.

Like who?

Gordon did all of the scouting for every game this year. Generally all three assistants divide the scouting assignments. If you watched the sidelines, Gordon was making all of the defensive and offensive calls.

That sends a message to the other assistants that “you’re only here to bring players and leave the coaching to us”. Then the consensus we OU loses is the coaching was good, but we didn’t have enough talent.

Maybe Joe C needs to hire you as a consultant. You wouldn’t be worth a crap at promoting the program and the head coach. But, you’d do one heck of a job at giving advice to everyone!

You know literally ZERO about the coaching "business". You sit here and talk like you have some knowledge and all the answers. Dude..you Saud you wanted Hill as a small ball 5....zero credibility.

I see what you mean. But I’m not in the practice room or coaches meetings so I don’t know what really went on. Turner really didn’t seem to want to be here very bad.

Sometimes it seems like nobody wants to be anywhere very bad.

I guess they lied on the pregame radio interviews, then.
