Lakers fire Mike Brown

I had an idea that might happen, but didn't see it coming this early in the season. Then again, somebody had to be the scape goat for the Laker's dismal showing so far.

I still can't believe he thought the Princeton offense was a good idea with that group.

it was a HUGE mistake to hire Brown. The guy is clueless when it comes to offensive basketball. Now I'd trust him defensively, but ... this group of Lakers needs to be running up and down the court with reckless abandon scoring. NOT Mike Brown's forte.

It just floored me that they signed the players they did with Brown at the helm ... and with him standing pat on the Princeton offense. Like a square peg in a round hole.

Are you serious? "Running up and down the court with reckless abandon" on those old legs is a recipe for disaster. The average age of their starting line-up when Nash is back will be 32.4, their 6 man Antwan Jamison is 36, and steve Blake the first guard off the bench is 32. Look at this Lakers roster and you will see it has no depth. They really need their forte to be good defense and a half court offense that can get easy buckets with Dwight and Pau. Running will tire them out and get injuries. Sure you may win more early in the season, but come playoff time the Lakers will be worse for wear.

Always a possiblity, of course. My money is on Mike D'Antoni as the Laker's next coach.

Good call! He got the job...thought for sure it was going to Phil. However, all I kept reading about were provisions Phil Jackson wanted in his contract. I can't say I'm a huge fan of Mike D, but he might be the best qualified to coach THIS Lakers team.
