Hate to break it to you guys, but Larry Brown is one of the best coaches in the history of the game developing players. He can sell the Big East exposure now as well.

Sure he had his ups and downs in the NBA because it's a different structure, but I would enjoy playing for a coaching legend like Larry Brown coming from high school.

He probably has 5 years left in the tank.

Don't fret the Shake as he is a dime a dozen player at SG (top 30 SG) and would never be a stout PG at the next level.

OU needs dominating big men, knowing Lon Kruger sign SGs without a problem.

Not sure about developing talent, but Larry Brown hasn't been that successful as a college coach. Better than his predecessor at Kansas but far worse than his successors and they were banned from post season play for what went on.

Brown's coaching and developing players has never been a ? It is whether he stays somewhere. My guess is that he will become bored at SMU and Shake may never play for him.

Couldn't the same question be raised with regard to Kruger?

Brown has had 12 head coaching jobs prior to SMU. In 8 of those 12, he stayed 3 years or less. This is his 3rd year at SMU.

While Lon has had 6 head jobs prior to OU, he stayed at least 5 years in each one excluding the Hawks where he was fired after 4 years. The fact that he spent 8 years in his most recent job is what differentiates Lon from Brown.

smu is in the AAC not the big east .. right there with tulsa and ucf

Yeah UConn and I guess Cincinnati are the only schools that were in the Big East. Big 12 is a much deeper and better conference than the AAC. If UConn could get out they would!
