If OU beats KU, OU will have closed the regular season 8-2. That is very, very good.
OU needs to beat KU and win some games in the Big XII Tournament. The first round game should be fairly easy. 14 seeds are not very good basketball teams. They should not have the athletes in the paint or on the perimeter to beat OU or any other 3 seed.
The fear is that KU beats OU and then OU gets upset in the Big XII tournament falling to a 5 seed. There is a big difference between a 14 seed and 12 seed. 12 seeds tend to be talented teams that are inconsistent or good teams from weak conferences. 14 seeds tend to be conference champs from weak conferences. Someone has to win that conference.
