+1, although tiny gallon makes a strong case for best fr big since bg.
I agree, but how many freshmen big men have we had since Blake? Most of our big men have been transfers. Tiny Gallon could have been good if he would have had a coach like Kruger and assistants like Crutchfield to work on his game. He was actually a decent kid ..... not nearly a bad as TMG. He played in the Alief school district in Houston in HS where I refereed some of his AAU games. He had/has a weight problem and needed someone like Yo-Yo to work on his body.
He had a good freshman year with the Sooners and wanted to stay, but he got the $3,000 loan arranged by Oronde Taliaferro that got OU put on probation and was caught up in that mess. He averaged 10.3 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 0.8 APG in 30 games as a frosh before being drafted in the 2nd round of the 2010 NBA draft. He's also had serious looks by the NBA after averaging 18.9 points and 9.1 rebounds in the NBA D league. He's currently making a decent salary playing in China. He's just 23 now and could have finished his time at OU last year under Kruger. He would have helped.
I hope Lattin has a better freshman year than Tiny, but I would be ecstatic if he averages 10 points and 8 rebounds a game this season.
