Pledger and Cade shouldn't be on the court at the same time. Unless Cade is playing the post, Our D will be really bad if they're, again! I picked Fitz out of default, to me he is the most proven scorer on the team. All I have seen from Pledger is that he is a shooter which is far from being a scorer, jmo tho!

Cades Freshman stats:
2007-08
Season TEAM G MIN FG FGA FG% FG3 FG3A FG3% FT FTA FT% PTS AVG
Oklahoma 28 371 31 97 32 19 69 27.5 23 23 100 104 3.7

Remember he played with Aj, Taylor Griffen oh and Blake...much easier for him to score or it should have been.

Pledger's Freshman stats:
2009-2010
Season TEAM G MIN FG FGA FG% FG3 FG3A FG3% FT FTA FT% PTS AVG
Oklahoma 30 367 60 161 37.3 44 130 33.8 22 26 84.6 186 6.2

So numbers dont lie, as freshman Pledger had a bigger impact on the team then cade...But played with a let say a different type of player...

Pledger had a higher 2 point fg%, 3 point fg% and a higher points per game average.

I also say Pledger did this soft and out of shape, imagine what he's going to do when yoyo's done...

I agree with you assessment that Pledger had a better year offensively then Cade as a freshman but I do not really understand how that is a good argument for him to lead the team in scoring next season. Yes Pledger has a great stroke from deep and if he avoids the slump that he was in for the middle of the season (the start and ending of the season was fantastic for him) he is going to be very valuable.

But the question isn't a Sophomore Pledger vs a Sophomore Davis, it is a Sophomore Pledger vs a Senior Davis. They both played on the same team last year and Davis outproduced Pledger. Right now even though I think Pledger is a better shooter Davis is a better overall scorer. When Cade's shot isn't falling he drove to the hole with some success last year, Pledger right now hasn't shown the ability to do that like Cade at the college level. I really hope Steve makes the next step over this summer and adds that to his game.

For the original reason I left Pledger off goes back to my previous argument. All he is right now is a shooter, even as a consistent shooter I am not sure if he could lead OU in scoring. It is much to easy to slow/shut down a three point shooter than a guy who has diversity in his game especially without a lot of weapons around him. Look at how a dedicated Cade Davis destroyed Rotni Clarke in Norman this past season. I am just not sure if Pledger has a diversified enough of a game to lead Oklahoma in scorer with some guys who I think have a better chance to do it. But I hope Steve proves me wrong and works his tail off this offseason because if Bird exceeds my expectations that is a great sign for this team next year.

All that stat shows is them at freshmen, which they are not the same age. Now when it is all said and done I think Pledge will prolly go down with the better shooting % and more points than Cade, that is no indication on next year.

Basically, I agree with everything Quick said. Cade could be our best player, if he improves. But I am going to guess Cam will lead the team in scoring.

I have a couple friends that have seen him play a lot and they are telling me that he is really really good. So, I'm kind of interested in seeing him play for the first time.

As for the other players, I think Pledger and Fitz will be improved and contribute next year. In my opinion, both are good enough to be solid Big 12 players.

Don't know anything about Ahmed, Newell, Blair or Thompson, other than what I have read on here. The same guys that tell me Cam is the real deal say Taylor is really good too.

I saw CJ play in high school, but that's it. Again, friends tell me he is a good player and they anticipate he will start along side Fitz. I don't really remember much about him.

I saw Neal play twice this year and I wanted OU to give him a scholarship, but I don't think he will be ready this year. So, there's my take on everyone.

I have seen

All the stars and/or prima donnas are gone. Its Cade's turn now. He has been the good role player for years and now it is his time to shine. It will be Cade. Easy choice.

Excactly...there all gone, watch Pledger shine...and within the team concept...You will see him drive the ball, create, defend and rebound...watch, you'll see why he was recruited...He's a winner and team player...just wait

Pledger's freshmans stats were better then Cade's freshman and sophmores stat's...and again he wasnt ready, not in the best condition and without the shooting slump would have easily been on the all freshman team...No slump this yr.

I love Cade BUT he is a hustle guy who is going to get 8-9 points a game,4-5 rebounds, acouple of steals, and a couple of loose balls. He will not however be the leading scorer and is unlikely to be among the top FOUR scorers on this team.

Pledger scored over 2200 points in High school, was the leading scorer on his AAU team...That team included:
1. Marshawn Powell, Arkansas
2. Ricardo Ratliff, Juco player of the year...that last two yrs
3. Tristen Spurlock, UVA
4. Kendall Marshall, UNC
5. Jaquan Parker, CIncy
6. Donte Hill, Clemson
7. Andre Dawins, Duke...Played behind Pledger

I'm telling you, when put Pledger on a team with guys that play for eachother and together...You get a beast. Also he was a true freshman, not in the best shape, and young...I watched him for the last two weeks workout and play here at home and he is a true beast, the player I remember from high-school
