I am just glad we're getting all of the excuses out in the open before the game, means everything will have already been aired out and we won't have to hear anything if OSU loses to a 12 seed.
I just think it's b.s. that we were given the toughest 12-seed when we're the top 5-seed.
While I think you guys got a much tougher draw than you deserved (most would agree), it's happened to us before as well. In 1990, OU finished the regular season (and conference tournament) as the #1 team in the country. It was definitely Billy Tubbs best coaching job since no one from that team was even drafted in the NBA much less played. What was our reward? An under-achieving #8 seed in the second round known as North Carolina; a team which had 8 Burger Boys and a handful of future NBA players.
Needless to say, you're not going to get any sympathy here...but I think you will still win.
I remember that 1990 game. It wrecked my bracket because I had OU in Final Four.
Are you sure OU was #1 overall that year? Wasn't that the year that UNLV was blowing everyone away, including blasting Duke in the finals?
I expect OSU to win.

If you look at KenPom's Pythagorean winning % for the 5/12 games, you can see how odd the seeding was this year. Wisconsin is the only 5-seed that could be considered a solid favorite. The other three are squarely in the "toss-up" zone:
- Wisconsin has a 71% chance to beat Ole Miss
- VCU has a 66% chance to beat Akron
- OSU has a 62% chance to beat Oregon
- UNLV has a 61% chance to beat Cal
Interestingly, one of the 8/9 matchups has a more solid favorite than any of the 5/12 games -- Pitt (72%). Eight-seed NC State is also a more solid favorite (65%) than two of the 5-seeds.
That just goes to show you how weird the 5/12 seeding was this year.
Not Dean Smith's most star-studded team, but Rick Fox, Hubert Davis, George Lynch, Pete Chilcutt, and Scott Williams all had long NBA careers. They made the Final Four a year later with the first four guys as their top four scorers. An under-achieving #8 seed in the second round known as North Carolina; a team which had 8 Burger Boys and a handful of future NBA players.
I just looked at the AP polls from the 89-90 season and we were #1 in the last AP poll

Like I said okie jr was over seeded. They were never a top 25 squad. We beat them just as easily as Oregon did. A double digit mismatch never in question.
OMG! He is the KNOW-IT-ALL!!! I'm worried now!!!
