Oh, I'm not trying to downplay it, and I'm not putting any words in your mouth, just evaluating your actions. You're rubbing it in and as a rival fan I expect no less. I don't think any less of you for it either, so I wasn't trying to make you mad.
UNI is the slowest paced team in the country with the best scoring defense as well. They gave up only 54 PPG all year and were undefeated when they hit 60 points. They shoot the ball really well, rarely turn it over, and are extremely disciplined. KU has a really good team but we have a lot of breakdowns. You have to play a pretty perfect floor game or be able to impose your will on someone to beat a team like UNI. We couldn't impose our will on them, imo, and we played only one near perfect game all year (@Temple).
We shot ourselves in the foot over and over with TO's, giving up O-rebounds, and missing FT's. Self coached a terrible game, imo, as well. He waited way to long to start making adjustments and once he got a flow he went back to the old lineup and we gave up the momentum.
I will say the officiating was some of the worst I've witnessed this weekend but it didn't win or lose the game. Overall, we played terrible and they played well enough to win and hit the big shots and made the big plays. If you look at the numbers across the board they are surprisingly close.
I hate to say it but Aldrich and Collins were our biggest struggle tonight. Aldrich played really poorly then got hurt. Collins couldn't get anything going but was still trying to do his thing and it hurt us.
Overall, one of the worst first hand experiences of my life!
