LOL @ the KU obsession...

No lecturing, just facts. How is my presence here obsession? I have been here for almost 10 years discussing hoops with some pretty cool folks. I guess you could say I'm obsessed with hoops.

On the other hand, I have never gone to another site and posted as someone I not. That my friend is a new low. :)

I guess OUr obsession doenst match up well with yOUr obsession! LOL!!!!

As an OSU fan who likes to see OU football lose, I feel like I have a good 'outsider' grasp on this. I don't think it's an 'obsession'. It's called "enjoyment in seeing smug fans eat it".

I don't really care about KU losing, but OSU's 4-5 against Self so I don't have any losing frustrations about them.

I will say I'm surprised Grace didn't stick around for the KSU game to root on Frank and the boys.

I'm just bummed we didn't get to go to the game as we had tickets, would have been fun watching their fans squirm. As a sidebar, the reason I didn't get to go was my fiancee being sick as a dog, so the fact that she is a KU grad probably saved me from sleeping on the couch for a week as I no doubt would have been ecstatic at the game.

Excellent documentary Play. Magic is my all time fave, and Bird is one of the 5 best to ever do it, IMO.
Yea I thought so as well. Some of that game footage brought back good memories from watching on an 11 inch television (next door, we didn't even own one) on CBS as a small kid. The part about a black vs. white thing with Magic and Larry was pretty interesting, because I grew up with a lot of blacks and I do think most of them pulled for the Lakers. That is until Jordan hit the scene, afterall, it was Chicago.

Yeah, I couldn't sit around and watch after that type of loss.

Not to mention the NCAA Tourney was by far the worst game experience I've ever been to. I think I'm spoiled by the entertainment value of the Thunder games. The TV timeouts in college are horrible and ruin the flow of the game. During timeouts there was nothing happening in the gym, hardly any replays during the game, and absolutely nothing at halftime.

I honestly will never buy tickets to another 1st round again. The NCAA is making a killing and putting absolutely no effort to enhance the fan's experience.

Magic is one of my all time favorites, too. Bet I'm one of no only a few here who saw him play in high school. He was so much better than anyone else on the floor in the Michigan state championship game, he was like a man among boys. He hit two of his teammates square in the face with his patented no-look passes off the dribble. The magic man was an amazing talent!

Bad matchup, poor refs, and bad fan experience, you've just had a tough little day, huh buddy?

Also, all the grapes at the concession stand were really sour.

u know if Texas beats Florida it makes the conference look better:chestram2:

Yea I agree. I went to Kansas City last year, and besides the results of course, it was pretty lame.

I remember seeing that Converse commercial as a kid where Magic goes to French Lick to play Bird one-on-one. I thought that was just about the coolest commercial ever (I loved Magic and the Lakers at the time). In retrospect I've really grown to respect Bird and the Celtics of the '80's but I hated them with a passion at the time. I can't believe that that commercial shoot was where Larry and Magic really hit it off. (Great documentary, and if you missed it, it comes on HBO every 5 minutes).

You've always been a class act, Grace. Cheno is a good dude as well. I wouldn't call all the negative KU threads an obsession as much as just OU fans being glad (okay, ecstatic) that a rival is more or less sharing our misery at the present moment. We'd all switch places with you in a heartbeat, but this is what we have to settle for. Try not to take it too personally.

I will say the officiating was some of the worst I've witnessed this weekend but it didn't win or lose the game.

However, the no-call on Morris running the little guard out of bounds, down three at the end of the game and then awarding KU the ball, was a curious one...

Make up call...:)

Probably. I just can't hardly STAND to watch a game any more. The refs are just about as bad as OU's hoops team was this year.

I wanted to grab that ref after that call and pull him to half court with a microphone and ask him, "do you think the kid somehow moonwalked out of bounds, or do you think a guy three times his size might have just shoved him out of bounds."

Then, make him watch the replay while all members of the UNI team kicked him in the nads...

we re not supposed so say that till tuesday. you ruined the surprise.

Ive been to plenty of 1st round matchups and I could care less about what happens in between timeouts and halftime. The only time it sucks is when you go to watch a game with 2 teams that are 1000 miles away and the arena is 1/4 full and you can hear a pin drop.
