Lon Kruger should be on with Al in a few minutes. I’m unable to listen if anyone can catch it for us.

I checked the website -- doesn't seem to be up yet (though I don't know if they usually archive interviews for later listening).

first Al talked to him about the California pay for play

then talked about how early bball practice now starts vs the old days (had some connection issues)

talked about how the team can go either big with doo at the 3 or small with he and manek at the 4/5

then about how the nba game style has spread down to the college game

thoughts on Harmon and the other freshman all skilled long and athletic competitive

Jamal has gotten better and has been very consistent

reaves a very complete player not just a shooter

williams talented strong and athletic really getting up to speed quickly

kur from last year to this year has gotten much bigger and stronger a plus defender but has improved his offense game a bunch

Manek/Doo both have gotten better shooting body maturity really good off seasons

trae and buddy have been around a bunch this summer working out with the guys

blake back quite a bit also

Al asked about the state players video lon deflected lol

schedule non con should be tough and prepare the team

recruiting going well and hope to have the class done in november

He dodged that Oklahoma Hometown kids video like it was the plague! you could feel him being uncomfortable!

Thanks!

Great that the NBA guys are around the team so much. Not surprised that Blake and Trae are in Oklahoma, given their family ties, but it's a bonus to have Buddy back so often.

Why? Are we talking about the video with Griffin, TY, etc talking about playing at OU? If so, why does that make him uncomfortable? I haven't seen it.

No the video of oklahoma hs kids going to OU. Implying OSU wasnt the best state school. Same time Bryce Thompson was on his visit to OSU.

Al is going to practice Tuesday. It’s amazing how little the local media knows about college basketball these days. It’s to easy for them to talk NBA because all they have to do is watch any talk show on tv.

I called after LK was done. Al is convinced all the bigs will redshirt. I disagree. AG redshirts and probably one other guy.

I wonder why OU doesn't have a big tip-off event like a lot of schools are having around the country?

Sadly, I think it's because they know it would be incredibly poorly attended. We can (and have) debated the reasons, but we all know that we struggle to draw even halfway decent crowds for early season games. Given that, I can't imagine a meaningful number of people attending a tipoff event.

I always maintained it was great for the Thunder to come to OKC but it was bad for the sports media in the area especially WWLS getting the broadcasting rights. They have become lazy

This, this board has just over 4000 members. while a small percentage are fans of other programs. 4000 is about what we average for non conference games and what we could expect at best at a midnight madness.

Our arena isn’t made for hoops. We need a new one. Small compact
Seats 6500-7500.

that's only going to work if you get the 7000 that already buy season tickets to actually show up. If not then you are still in a half full arena with no walk up tickets available

I think 8500, but if configured correctly it would give a much greater home court presence even with average turnout.

Lot of smart can figure that out.

ou sells over 9k tickets to almost every game
