Nope. He was suspended for 2 games earlier this season, but he played in every other gsme for them this year.

That's the way I generally feel, but my memory is awful at times. I looked at the box score from 2013 Ncaa tourney against San Diego St and Hornbeak was a starter in that game over these other guys.

Agreed. Funny how the perception of former players is almost always better after they're gone. Hornbeak would have been a good backup this season. Nothing more. He wasn't happy with a backup role at OU, which is why he transferred to Monmouth. As a starter there in 21 minutes per game this season, he averaged 8.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg and just as many turnovers (1.9) as assists (1.8).

Je'lon is a good on-the-ball defender and he's a 40% shooter from deep. But, nothing else he has done at Monmouth would convince me that he would have been more than a solid role player off of the bench on this OU team. As you correctly stated, a slightly better one than Walker.

Hornbeak would've backed up all three guard positions and played around 20-25 minutes a game. He was better as a freshman than Cousins, but he was a headcase. Prone to hissy fits, and did not fit in with the dynamic of this group by a long shot.

He was a major cog in our win over Kansas in 2013, and anyone who says he's slightly better than Walker is doing Je'Lon a disservice. But he was not/is not better than Woodard, so his starting days were over. He couldn't handle that, so he left.

He can eat fish heads on the Jersey shore for all I care. What a maroon.
