First off, I hate losing, we all do. But this loss should be a blessing in disguise. For 2 months, everyone has been touting this team as the best in the country, and deservedly so. Buddy as the run away POY, as deservedly so. But this team & Buddy became arrogant. People blowing smoke up our arse, and this team & Buddy buying into it. But they forgot what got them here, hustle, hard work, team work. How often do we just stand around & not dive for loose balls, become complacent on the 3 pt shot, not passing the ball. This team let all that get in their heads & stopped competing hard every play.

Maybe we need this slump to teach us how to be humble, to get that hunger back, to fight for every possession. I'd rather this slump happen now, figure out how to turn it around, and become focused on the goal at end of year. Kruger has to get the bench involved, and not just 5-7 min. They need to play extended minutes, to gain experience. Buddy needs to take more breaks. This team is tired & it's on Kruger to balance the starters minutes so that we are fresh in tourney.

The Big 12 regular season title is out of reach now & if Buddy keeps forcing shots as he has done the past 5 games, he can forget POY. Kruger needs to change it up because we are so predictable now. These changes need to start this Sat.

I live in WV & can't stand the trash talk from Mountaineers. Blessing in disguise, I hope so & pray that this team & Kruger realizes it before it's too late.

Boomer Sooner, OU heart & pride!

Hope you're right, Lou!

This team definitely isn't playing well as the hunted.

No. Losing is never a blessing. May have lost a 1 seed

I feel your pain... but I don't think the guys are arrogant. To play at this level each guy has to believe in himself. Yeah, I hate cousins talking chit...WHEN HE'S ON...then doesn't say chit when he's not...just play.

I would HOPE that a D1 coach (I love Kruger's personality and obviously he's coached a long time) would see the "issues" way before game 5. Ksu gave the blueprint how to beat this team. PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE the guards. Make them WORK.

Guys get tired, legs go, shots don't fall like they did. EVERY team after the ksu game has done that. We were lucky to beat ut at home.

big 12 reg title gone. I'd say buddy is now on the back burner for POY...ah well, I'm sure he and the others would rather win games. He's really pressing.

I'd like to think OU can beat wv...I really doubt it. Depends on if Paige is good for them, that will def hurt them if he isn't.

TT played 7 guys for 20+ min, 1 with 17. Our 3 subs played no more than 14 min each.

I think we have to win out to keep it...which unfortunately I don't see with the way the guys are playing. If we continue I'd say we'll drop to a 3. I take that as in the top 12...

Who's taking it? #5 UNC, who lost at home tonight? #4 Iowa, who lost to Penn State tonight?

I don't agree with the original poster that we've stopped working hard. Buddy certainly hasn't. Neither has Isaiah. And I'm confident Jordan and Ryan haven't either.

Buddy missed some wide-open shots tonight; how often is he going to do that? He hits one more than he did, and we win the game. That's how tight a game it was. There's no need to rush to accuse our guys of laziness, arrogance, or laissez-faire attitudes. NONE of us are in a position to make such accusations, not unless we're attending practice every single day (and arguably not even then), and merely being disappointed, frustrated or even angry about some tough losses doesn't give us the right to do that.

We're saying this every loss now.. if we blockout and do things Right we don't have to rely on playing lights out every game.. that's the real fix

I see 23-7 and a 2-seed. Big 12 tourney result could swing it one way or another.

We get things turned around and most everything is still in front of us. Get a split of WVU and ut, win the rest, and do well in the conference tourney and I think we can still get a 1 seed.

I'm all for blind optimism, but what makes anyone think that this team could win @WV or @UT with the way that they've been playing over the last three weeks? Right now, it seems that we can't even get out of our own way, much less put together a focused-enough effort to win a really tough road game. Whether it is effort, court-awareness, basketball IQ or execution, this team has issues right now that are holding them back. I don't have a good answer.

How many blessing in disguise losses are we going to suffer here recently? Yesterday was our easy game now that we have to travel to Morgantown and Austin and Baylor is a wildcard.

Blind optimism? I agree they won't win either of those games with their current level of play. Saying otherwise is blind optimism. Only an idiot would say they can be successful going forward without improvement. Try reading the posts you respond to. I don't think this team is the one from November and December. People defend us differently now and we've been exposed some on the boards and defensively. However, I also don't think we're the team that's played this way since late January either. The mean will prevail at some point and we need to adjust and find where that is. I think the team we really are is still good enough to split WVU and ut (with and outside chance at sweeping), going 4-1 to finish conference play, do well in KC, and get a high seed in OKC. Blind optimism? I'd call it knowing the game of basketball, understanding that everyone gives out scholarships too, this is a very difficult league (especially on the road), the season is long and grinding, teams struggle at times, BUT can and often do improve and make runs. Saying those things can't happen is what? Blind pessimism? Come on...
