Louisville self-imposes postseason ban

This makes more sense to me, although I don't think anyone but Louisville has the power to fine coaches.

Suspend the coach. Fine Louisville.

They've also told universities, essentially, that their punishment would be lighter if they got rid of the coach.

The key is to ban them next season, not this season, so this year's players aren't hurt by the actions of others and they get a chance to go somewhere else. Then, the school and athletic program is hurt but they players are not, unless they choose to stay. Then, it's on them.

Terrible decision. They have seniors and transfers who came there to play for a chance for post season and they made this decision this late in the season? This is all about the school once again. They pick a year when they are not as good and screw over the players to save themselves once again.

I would give them even a bigger penalty for making this decision at this time.

The real question is does the NCAA let them get away with this.
