Louisville to ACC

I think we sit tight and build on what we have, particularly given the schools that are left out there.

Good. The Big 12 didn't need another basketball power. Making the tourney out of this conference is tough enough as it is.

Maybe I’m a renegade on this topic, but I am happy with the current 10 team conference. Unlike recent years, the Big-12 looks very stable right now.

In both football and basketball, I like playing all 9 conference opponents every year. I can see good rivalries developing with teams like WVU and TCU.

For me, having too many teams was one factor that diminished some of the appeal of the prior league. The wonderful and historic rivalry with Nebraska was lost when the conference was split into divisions. That really sucked as far as I am concerned, and the split into “divisions” is what ruined that rivalry. They quit playing every year.

Also, in basketball, I love playing the "North" teams like KU and KSU in Norman every year.

Let's stick with what we have for the next decade or so and see what develops.

With Conferences going to 14 and 16 teams, the Big 12 needs at least 12. plus that would give us a championship game which brings in more tv revenue to the conference.

That is exactly how I look at it.

I would just like 12 max. I miss the championship. I would love another shot at kstate

I'd rather keep the 10 we have than add two of the types of schools that are plausible at this point. From a selfish perspective, OU along with UT are still at the top of the food chain in this conference, if the 10 team model doesn't work, OU will be welcomed with open arms by any conference out there.

No reason for OU to seek Big 12 expansion. No team that's available is going to increase the overall pot by enough to offset the cost of dividing it among more schools.

Several schools in the Big 12 would be wise to push for expansion (the kansas state, Iowa State, Baylor types). OU doesn't need to worry about that. They're fine financially right now, gain nothing by adding to the conference and will be fine in a worst-case scenario for the Big 12.

10 teams is good for basketball, and terrible for football. Losing that spotlight conference championship game is a huge blow.

Great time to remind everyone that the Pac-12 tournament is now in Vegas...we really dropped the ball on that one.

Yep.

I think it may start hurting us when the new playoff format takes place in two years as well.

I'm not really worried about it though. I'm pretty sure the Big 12 will expand, just a matter of when. I'd guess by 2015 at the latest, probably earlier.
