Its looking more and more like Boca was right... maybe Ford is a clown and can't win there? He has had plenty of talent, and he has plenty of talent this year. But they are awful.

Young, talented and just plain awful describes this OSU team fairly well.

I have always thought Ford was a pretty good coach, and still do. His teams usually play hard and they're reasonably disciplined. This group of kids, though, are as undisciplined and disorganized as any team he has coached since he took the job. If Ford finds a way to mold them into a real basketball team by seasons end, he could be a candidate for COY honors.

As a side note, Kruger's strategy to feign interest in Guerrero and Jurick worked like a charm. :D

But they have played a stronger schedule. They would be #1 in the country if they had OU's schedule. Osu will win it all this year. They are the best team and played in the best arena in college basketball.

Hillbilly is 42 years old and has won a single NCAA game in his career. What more do you need to know?

Capel is 10 times the coach and always will be.

I think Ford still has a shot at getting these guys where they need to be, and I do not automatically hate him just because he is the coach at oSu. Now Eddie and Sean is a different story, for those two to turn in OU to the NCAA after their pasts was and will always be a joke.

Agree.

Then he must really suck because Capel is about the worst coach I have seen. Capel practically makes John Blake look intelligent.

I'd still take Ford over Capel, but it appears that my initial opinion on both were incorrect. I thought both were good hires at the time.

Isnt Ford a good recruiter? What happens to the studs he recruits?

So far, the same thing that happened to Capel's studs. They don't get coached up. They aren't held accountable. They aren't put into a system or position to succeed. Same story, different chapter.

I know people say they've got these great recruits but I don't really see it. They defend okay, sometimes even real well. But their offense is so bad. It's similar to OU's team at the end of the Capel era with no offense and average to above average defense.

<sigh>

Not sure why you keep looking at current results/stats, and using that as your ONLY basis for judging talent.

I'd have thought Pledger (last year to this year) would have been the up-close example you needed to learn that good talent can look like bad talent, with bad coaching. OSU has some talent.

I liked watching some of Ford's final teams at UMass. They really pushed the pace. I recall them beating Syracuse 107-100 or something like that in the Carrier Dome, and I remember being really disappointed when O-State hired him.

I have no idea what they're trying to do out there right now. They look totally disoriented.

Don't think it is as bad as we were last year, but Ford like Capel seems to not have an identity with his program right now.

Never a good sign.
