Sorry if this was discussed in a different thread..

**Name Calling of OU players is not called for *** I liked him and had no problem with him last season, but this season he has been hard to watch and cheer for. His defense is terrible, he doesn't hustle back and he sits there clapping for the ball like a 5 year old. I really hope something changes with him. As far as his actual game, he needs to work on defense and putting the ball down and getting to the hole. Maybe add a pull up shot to his game for next year as well.

We basically don't have a Center on the team this year which is hurting us. Christian James is not a leader, can't be your best option.. At best he is a role player. I'm tired of watching him turn the ball over, miss wide open shots and not play any defense as well.

Also probably discussed somewhere, but Bandoo is WAY better than Reynolds. Maybe would of taken him over Calixte. Think that was just a huge miss on Kruger's part.

Why does he act like a little BEETCH all the time? I liked him and had no problem with him last season, but this season he has been hard to watch and cheer for. Agree about both Manek and James. Our best players are Odomes and Bieniemy.

Manek has grinded on me a times this year as well. Cant disagree.

Manek set a terrible tone last night four minutes into the game when he missed a dunk, complained about what he thought should have been a foul, then was slow getting back and ultimately chose to foul the guy because (a) he was mad, and (b) he was out of position since he had spent a couple seconds complaining rather than hustling back. I don't care if he is hard on himself, as long as he doesn't let that stop him from focusing on the play at hand.

JB, Doo, and RO are definitely the three guys I feel confident will show up every game. Doo didn't convert a high percentage of his chances last night, but I thought he played hard.

Looked like Lon was sick of Manek's attitude as well, as he appeared to be benched for much of the second half (although according to the stat sheet he played 27 minutes in the game). If he did play in the second half, he literally didn't record a stat.

yeah, seems like all season Manek has had a pi$$y attitude.

he has also been very very sick

Christian James feels like Cade Davis reincarnated. Quality role player being asked to do way more than he's capable of because the head coach has completely botched recruiting and left the roster devoid of talent.

We heard he was sick 10 days ago, and he has played two excellent games in between. I'm not buying that excuse.

The reality is that he's a streaky player who can get in his own head and check out. We've seen it plenty of times over his two years on campus.

Well, in his four years of college, he got to play one season with the national POY and another with the best point guard in America. His sophomore year, Woodard's health issues hurt him and the rest of the team. I don't think it is unfair to expect James to have improved enough by his senior season to consistently be the best scoring option. His inconsistency shouldn't still be this big an issue after 120+ games, and that is on him, not "botched recruiting."

We have a really talented team coming in next year. The next 2-3 seasons could be pretty special, BUT the two concerns I have is our lack of bigs/toughness and Manek's attitude/selfishness.

Christian has improved leaps and bounds since he got here. And yes, it is unfair to expect a 3-star, top 150 type recruit to develop into a lead scorer on a good Big XII team. You want that guy to become a quality player, which he has. But asking him to be the lead guy on a good team is way too much. Same exact thing happened with Cade Davis.

Doolittle is tough, and Victor Iwaukor might be the toughest player on campus from day 1. Freeman & Manek scare me some but overall the team should be tough for the next 3-4 years.

I think this team is pretty tough & physical, except for the 3 bigs (excluding Doolittle). Just going to get an upgrade in talent coming in.

TY & McGusty were supposed to be those players. TY was an unexpected 1 & done, and McGusty turned out to be all about McGusty.

I agree on Manek...that missed dunk the consequential foul was a bunch of crap, on his part.

Honestly it seems he does that several times in every game.

EVERYONE forgot how to play defense last night...there were several switches that didn't get switched..led to points.

Hopefully we can win a few more, enough to get to the NCAA...but it'll be a low seed I'm sure.

Boy, the team loses a couple of games and all of a sudden the personal attacks really come out by those who have little to say here otherwise.

Manek did shut it down after missing that dunk & not getting the call he wanted. Using that to broaden the attack on him to call him a selfish player & to say that he could be the reason the team underachieves is just an ad hominem. Using the bad game to impugn the coach is just as ridiculous. The other thread used the bad game to regurgitate the tired whining about the team's assistant coaches. Needless to say, nobody complained about any of these things when the team was 11-1 and none of it is an objective critique of anything that happened beyond last night.

The team was horrible last night as they were against Kansas St. They have to play better. They have to play harder, get back on defense, play smarter, and move the ball better. They have to go after loose balls. There are about 100 things they need to do better. None of that makes Manek or James "selfish" or "whiny" or any other personal attack "OU fans" make about them. None of it makes Kruger or the assistants incompetent. None of it means the players have -- as 1 repeatedly insists -- "low IQ's." All of these are personal attacks that are completely unsupported even by their poor play the last 4 games.
