Manning Suffers Season-Ending Knee Injury

Absolutely devastating. This team has had more injuries (especially ACLs) than any other team I know over the past five years. I'm dumbfounded.

Wow this sucks! I think she will be back stronger and better then ever next season, here's to a fast return Manning....

Colton Coale said that Maddie looks like Stacey Dales, plays like her, injured her ACL as a freshman like Stacey-----and they even have the same birthday.

Sh!t. Well she has the best inspiration in Whitney right there in front of her. This sucks though because I think we were all looking for good things from Maddie.

Can Manning apply for an injury redshirt for this year??

or has she played too many games??

Billy just said she was past the limit but that she can appeal. Let's hope that goes her way.

My understanding of the rule is if you play in less than 20% of your scheduled games you will receive a medical redshirt. Maddie played in 6 of our scheduled 30 games for exactly 20%, so i would think she would get the medical redshirt.

I believe Cuda is right. I read that a player can play in 20% of the scheduled games as long as the injury did not occur in the last half of the season.

I agree, I guess the silver lining in this, she will have four years with the three recruits coming in. Kind of gives us a one, two, three, and a four. Now if we can just get a couple of good posts and a point, we could be set.

I think Maddie will be back better than ever. Kind of spooky though how she is mirroring Stacy and her freshman season.

Of course I can't forget about Kaylon, once she is back, at least we have a good core of kids for the next three years, but we still need to get some good kids signed in the coming classes.

I drove up for the game today and the last thing I could find on Maddie"s situation before I left home, was it will be a game time decision whether she would play. I was sitting in Loyd Noble parking lot listening to KREF and they announced she was out for the season with a torn ACL. It hit me hard. I know it had to be a tremendous blow for Maddie. I wish her and Kaylon all the best with their recovery and hope they come back stronger than ever.

Oh, man. I was really looking forward to watching Maddie play. Fortunately she has Whitney to provide moral support. encouragement and prayer.

Just seems like we have more acl type injuries than other top programs; ie U Conn, Baylor,
A&M, NDame, Tennessee. Maybe they have more than we know about???

I haven't gone back to do a count but it does seem like we have had more than most.

Baylor has had a bunch of ACL injuries...I remember one year (somewhere around 2006) they had so many they were down to 7 healthy players. I can remember Tennessee having several (Alyessia Brewer and Vicki Baugh come to mind quickly) knee injuries. It is just a problem for everyone.

I agree. I think we just notice our own and don't always hear about other team's injuries.

I'd like to see the menu that has "1 Season Without Injury" on it. I want to order that.
