For me the truth about Smart is this: he is a good college player and a very heady player, but he is no where close to a great college player. Just think back to some of the great players to come through this conference in recent years: Beasley, Durant, Griffin, etc. Smart is no where near that level. Now, I can see a scenario where he could grow into a great NBA player in the mold of Jason Kidd, but I think it's much more likely he will be a backup In the NBA. If a team drafts him higher than say 20th they are taking on too much risk with the selection. This is a very similar situation to Willie Warren. People used to gush about how great WW was all the time, but it rarely actually happened on the court. Both players are/were 80% hype.
