Marshall QB commit switch sports & is OSU's first 2012 bball committ

Glad to see oswho will not be without a goofy-looking white guy after Page leaves.

The goofy white kid must be a pretty darn good athlete. Anyone that gets a scholarship to play QB in D-1 and shooting guard at a Big XII school has to be pretty talented.

Pretty out of nowhere. Underwhelming at first glance, but you have to think Ford thinks pretty highly of him to take him so early. If he had signed April of 2012, I'd be pretty worried. I also think there is a 10% chance of him being like that guy in Nevada who had that big press conference about signing with Cal for Football, and it turned out Cal had never even heard of him.

Perfect case of a kid having a great tournament and maybe playing above his actual level. Obviously a good athlete to get offers from D1 schools in 2 different sports, but basketball wise the kid is a mid major. Not sure why they offered so early.

Ford did the same thing with Ray Penn after the Reebok tourney.

Re: Marshall QB commit switch sports & is OSU's first 2012 bball committ

He did the same thing with Penn because every other decent point guard in that class had committed elsewhere. Penn was taken because he was one of the few decent players remaining...before that Reebok tourney the pickin's were pretty slim.

To call this kid a mid major sounds a little premature. For Ford(who seems to be recruiting pretty well) to offer this kid early tells me that the kid must be pretty darn good.

The thing about Penn, was Ford was bent on on taking three point guard regardless. Also, every recruiting service thought highly of him as well, it wasn't as if he was the only guy who thought highly of his summer performance.

No clue about Wing's talent level. But, don't think he and Penn are comparable in anyway, really as far as how their recruitments look.

Not to speak for BT but I think he may be referring to the fact that Penn really had 1 good tournament that generated buzz about him during the summer.
